The Final Game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit.
BaseballEgg

On September 27, 1999, the Detroit Tigers played their final game at Tiger Stadium. Located on the historic corner of Michigan and Trumbull, the park opened in 1912. At the time of the final game, Tiger Stadium was the oldest ballpark in the major leagues (having opened the same day as Fenway Park in Boston).

After they blasted the visiting Royals in the game, the Tigers celebrated Tiger Stadium with a nearly one-hour post-game ceremony. Here it is:

QUESTION OF THE WEEK.
Totally Tigers

It?s time again to hear from our readers! Today is the day to let us know what you?re thinking on a selected topic.

Sunday is the one day of the week where we open up the comment parameters for you, so you can get those juices flowing.

Comments on THIS DAY ONLY can be expanded to a maximum of 8 sentences.

We can?t wait to get your thoughts on the following topic:

With the appeal of baseball so low in Detroit, many fans want the experience of watching the Tigers, worth their time or money. The conditions need to be right when they consider when to watch on TV or even invest in a MLB TV or radio subscription.

When considering whether or not to attend a Tiger game, fans may require special tickets prices, special giveaways or discounts on food / concessions.

Then again, fans may need even more than that. The appeal of the product itself must be a consideration for them. They may need to feel legitimate interest in new players or some of the younger talent. All in all though, where the team sits in the standings will impact their decision. Winning may ultimately be the deciding factor.

So what is it Tiger fans?

What conditions will be required next season that would incline you give the Tigers your attention?

WOULD YOU RATHER?
Totally Tigers

Heading into the holiday season, it?s a good time to introduce a new discussion format based on a poll where you will have 2 choices ? answering the question, ?Would you rather???

As you will see, the choices aren?t easy ? and that?s the way it?s meant to be. But it is meant to stir up some good discussion.

As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons ( 4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

Would you rather....
1. Have a top 10 farm team with 3 players listed in the top 100 prospects.

2. Have a farm system ranked below the top ten that has 6 prospects listed in the top 100?

Vote.
