Game 2: Lions @ Cardinals Thread

And Bell is a fine backup plan. Can't have 2 Reggie Bush's on the team.

But missing Bush and Broyles and Edwards did kind of suck in that second half. They'll get it on track. There were plenty of positives for this road game too in a tough last minute loss.

Lol name the positives.

Moving the ball and making stops, Lions are better than most teams. That is why you should be positive.

The turnovers seem to be fixed as a Bush fumble shouldn't change that. Drops, penalties and missed FGs seem to be next. It cost the Lions on the road but maybe not against Washington.

Stafford had a very good day. So did Calvin. Oline protected well. Defense bent but didn't break most of the day and had a big stop with the Cards getting a short field. Finally a defensive TD for the Lions. Martin did well punting and kicking off. Ansah forced fumble was nice ruined by the Young penalty.

Houston/Quin/Delmas/Tulloch/Levy continue to play well.

Bush/Fairley healthy it's a different story but they'll deal with the injuries, drops, missed field goals and penalties.

Stafford was pathetic. The defense had no pressure and the DBS were atrocious. The defensive td came on a rookie TE stopping his route and was a gift. How you build on Calvin having a good day beats me, he's been having good days for the past 5 years and has meant nothing in the w-l column.

Levy was beyond fucking putrid.

See tigermuds list for the negatives they far outweigh the positives Polly.

This is the NFL. Games will be close. The Lions have the talent to beat anyone. Losing to the Cards doesn't end anything.

This team can go out and beat the Redskins next weekend and get right back on track.

And on the final offensive drive, should have been a PI on Patrick Peterson.

In Washington? A place we have never won? 0-forever? Ya, okay.

At the game today, I had a blast until the last Lions play when we throw short on a need play..same ole same ole.

Not going to defend the loss but saying Stafford was pathetic? Really?

I get it. Not all his fault, drops, talent, and play calling were beyond bad. But dump offs to Megatron (who turned a five yard pass into a td) and Bell isn't exactly an elite performance. No shots whatsoever down the field. Cap it off, we had a chance to win at the end and didn't move the ball at all other than an outstanding way overthrown catch by Pettigrew (can't believe I wrote that). What was so good about him?

Lions lost...Game over... Just another L. In a long line of L's for this franchise since ford took over...

Grades in a Loss. LMAO. Same old lions..
Everyone gets a freaking F...

Your assessment of Stafford and the defense is the only thing that is putrid. There were plenty of positives bring on Washington to shut the haters up.

And Suh got good pressure on the pick 6. Great play and Levy did what he was supposed to do in that situation. Great scheming by Gunther as well on that play.

Akers was(is) terrible.

Misses a FG albeit a longer one in the 1st, then gets a second try and blows that as well.

The blocked FG is on him too, because he seemed to hesitate after the snap before starting the kick, if he starts moving as soon as the ball gets to the holder it doesn't get blocked.

Plenty of blame to go around but those 6 points were huge.

Dude, we don't win there ever. EVER. We needed this win bad because next week, a win ain't happening.

Next week a win can happen. I don't give a shit what millen or lions 90s team never won there. This is 2013 and the lions have plenty of talent to beat the 0 and 2 redskins. I will be at the game as well.

They haven't won ever, dating back to the early 70's. That's not just Millen and the 90's.

That would be Ever as in the history of the franchise never!

yeah I know, it took awhile me awhile for that to sink in when I first heard it also

You missed the point. None of those games matter. You really think because some lions team lost in the 70s means this 2013 team will lose next week. Lions matchup well with the skins especially with rg3 sucking.

Lions can win on Sunday

Its been said over and over, unless I see them win there its a loss on paper.

They didn't deal with injuries, drops missed scoring opportunities or penalties last year. This was a bad bad loss. ....not going to win very many games playing the way they did today.

Mosley and Hilliard did their jobs. Losing bush on the fly sucks and is beyond terrible bad luck. I like Mathis as depth too since they need to yank slay.

Missed fgs and penalties at the worst possible times blew. It is not the end of this season by far. Win in wash and they are back on track

Maybe Akers 2012 wasn't bad because he was injured. Maybe he just got old fast and now sucks..bad bad misses.

It sucks that Bush got hurt but if no one steps up when he does get hurt it could be a long season. We need depth, bad.
