Lions K Matt Prater's (@MattPrater_5) eight points scored today moves him to 38th in NFL history for the most points scored, passing WR Jerry Rice (1,256).

Lions DE Romeo Okwara (@RomeoND45) is the 4th defensive lineman in Lions history to finish the first half of a game with at least 5 tackles & 1 FF.

The #Lions have gone consecutive games without being sacked for the first time since Weeks 1 & 2, 2011.
The 2011 team went 10-6 and made the postseason.

Kerryon 20 carries 36 yards....great job by the oline in pass pro...but our run game sucks so bad.

Staff was sacked 3 times against Arizona and then zero times against the Chargers and Eagles. That's pretty shocking....especially today. I would have thought Schwartz would have blitzed us a lot. They've kept him upright so far this year and he's done a much better job with his pocket presence.

The eagles did blitz a hellva lot more than the lions did though and I think the lions did a great job against the blitz today is why it seem like gym shorts didn?t blitz much, I think he did actually...

The lions lack of pressure is concerning but I think it has more to do with the schemes their running our D game plans just don?t seem to be interested in pressuring QB much why I?m not sure a healthy eagles WR core would have thumped us today with all that time Wentz had all day

True win eagles?

I do not care how we won yesterday, and how many guys were out for the Eagles that was a good road win. We tried to give it away but somehow we didn?t and are 2-0-1. Shame we are not 3-0. All I hear on pro football talk this morning is how good the Packers and Vikings are. The Pacckers have played shit offenses the first three weeks. I hope the freaking Eagles pound Green Bay next week. Seriously who have the Minnesota played that is any good. Falcons and Raiders suck.

I am sure Ron put this in the notes but Matt Prater hit a milestone his 277 field goal tied him with Shayne Graham for 35th in Field goals made. It was on his 331 attempt. That ties home with Kris Brown for 43rd all time. That was his first field goal yesterday. So he was 1 for 2 the rest of the way in Philadelphia. He is 278/333 now. (I think lol). Man am I tired.

I?ll agree that neither team is all that good but I watched both games and Minnesota absolutely dominated from start to finish, it wasn?t even competitive. Run-first team with a rushing attack that actually works, if the Lions can?t force Cousins to throw it?s game over.

A couple of points that stuck with me from the PODcast this morning:

- The Lions are making mistakes and not putting teams away, but not actually losing yet, just luck or are they good enough to overcome it?
- Taylor Decker was getting crucified by the fanbase earlier in the season but there was silence yesterday as Graham and Cox were neutralized, positive step or just inconsistent?

Ill give this a shot.

1. I think it's a bit of both. We HAVE made timely plays when needed. Slay's pick. Tavai's forced fumble of Eckler on the goal line. Davis punched one out yesterday, as well. But, we've gotten lucky. SD missed FG's. Goddert drop of an easy TD. I'd say we're slightly more on the LUCK side than the "we've made the plays" side......I don't thinks its a sustainable way to win.

2. Decker was GREAT yesterday. Anyone else notice how quick off the ball he was?? Consistently the first OL to take his drop. Not much pressure on Stafford's blind side.
He needs to run block at a higher level, though. He gets a good initial punch but he's not sustaining his blocks well.

All in all id say he had a B+ day.

Both teams were terrible at executing the big play. Hockenson fucked up 3 TDs single handedly. Stafford underthrew Golladay and MArvin for HUGE plays to put the game away. Golladay felt like catching a beautiful ball out of bounds when he had a ton of space to catch it in the field of play.

The eagles couldnt catch a cold. Goedert dropped TD and that final drop on the 2 yd line from that guy with 6 names...we should have lost. Had nothing to do with our D making plays like all the pod casts and youtube scouts i keep hearing say. The eagles literally and figuratively "dropped the ball."

If we're looking at trends through 3 weeks. The only consistent thing im seeing is we tried to give the game away 3 weeks in a row and our special teams is a disaster. Twice we tried to blow double digit 4th qtr leads. And our defense is absolutely terrible at generating any pressure.

Schematically we will need to change big time defensively against the chiefs. You simply will not be able to rush 3 and give WRs a ton of space....Mahomes will put up a 50 burger on us by the 3rd qtr.

Oline is playing great in the passing game....the run game is a completely different story. They are simply terrible at creating any resemblance of a running lane.

Lions have had terrible bad luck if you count drops. Agnew muff. Crazy catches by cardinals They earned every win and should have won week1 bases on whi played better. A million ticky tack st penalties called on lions but not opponents. Missed fgs and pats. Undefeated still

Reactions to Detroit Lions win over the Philadelphia Eagles. 65 minutes.
The PODcast crew shared their thoughts about another Lions upset win.

For the second straight week in a row, the Detroit Lions pulled off an upset to earn a big win and keep their undefeated streak alive. Considering how daunting the beginning of the schedule looked in the offseason, an 2-0-1 start is a fantastic place to be, regardless of the Loins? lack of style points.

The Lions beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a big road game. When we look back in December, that?s all that?s truly going to matter. But what does Sunday?s performance tell us about this team?s identity? Will the Lions eventually get their issues ironed out? Will the conservative coaching ever end?

And what about Jamal Agnew?s resurgence? And the pass protection finally holding up in consecutive games?

We talk about all of that and so, so much more on this week?s episode of the PODcast.

This week on the PODcast:
It?s a win, and that?s all that matters.

The Lions early game performance is giving them just enough wiggle room to survive a couple of late-game collapses.

Jeremy rages about the Lions? offensive game plan at the end of halves, and thinks Detroit?s secondary bailed out Matt Patricia in a big way.

Jamal Agnew: From zero to hero.

The Lions may have a pass-blocking offensive line?

Mailbag tackles Week 4 expectations, Justin Coleman?s big day, and discusses best wing flavors.

Lions have given the ball up 4 times and taken the ball away 5 times.
Bengals, Dolphins, 49ers have all given the ball away 8 times already.

Per Next Gen Stats, Jamal Agnew hit 20.33 MPH on his 100-yard kick return for a TD.

Per Next Gen Stats, the Lions offensive line gave Stafford an average of 3.03 seconds throw, 3rd most in the NFL this week.

According to NGS, Wentz only had 2.74 seconds this week (15th).

Two Next Gen stats that show how Darrel Bevell's system suits Matthew Stafford better than previous schemes.
Aggressiveness
2018 = 15.7% (20th)
2019 = 20.6% (6th)
Air yards to sticks (throwing past the first down marker)
2018 = 2 yds short (34th)
2019 = 1.9 yds past (4th)

Per Next Gen stats, the Lions RBs faced 8+ men in the box in high frequency.
C.J. Anderson = 68.75% of the time (most in NFL)
Kerryon Johnson = 45.83% of the time (3rd most)
With Anderson no longer on the Lions, and Kerryon absorbing his carries, Kerryon faced an 8+ man box against the Eagles 60-percent of his snaps -- most of any RB in the NFL this week.

Kenny Golladay had an average separation of 1.1 yards this week, worst in NFL, Marvin's jumped up to 3.1 ... probably why he had a much better day.
