Game 4: Lions @ Cowboys Thread

Every pick this year needed to be defense. Instead we trade up for a rb we give 9 touches a game. Love kerryon... but if youre not going to use him then why trade up for him?

10 points thru 3 qtrs. Scoreboard. Stfu.

Who gives a **** what the score was thru 3 quarters you shlub? The offense put this team in front with 2 mins to go and of course our defense once again shit the bed. The Lions defense is ****ing atrocious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about putting some of the blame on Ziggy ****ing Ansah. This tool is raping the organization with his "injury". We need that guy out there and all this smells like is another Levy situation.

Team can never play defense it seems .. like never .
Team rarely starts games on time.
Always coming from behind............Except one of four games this season .
Terrible OC in the red zone.
We know the defense stinks and in 4 games are only average 21 points a game on offense.
That is not good enough.
Penalties.
No luck.

Ya cause that's the position we should want to be in if we want to consistently be considered a good team. Go into the 4th qtr trailing by double digits... awesome. Im sure we will do just fine playing like that.

Lions held a 20+ To 9+ first half time of possessions. To only come away with 10 points and trail 13-10 at half really hurt. Very frustrating.

This team needs to outscore teams . End of discussion because the defense just won’t win many games . If lions can average in the high twenties they can win most games

We all knew that was the case this year... tony just forgot or something.

I'm Just Bummed. Other teams come and go. Get bad then get good again, and the Lions have been just stuck in the damn mud all the time... It feels so close to a break through then we just get slapped in the face. I guess last week excited me. I just expected better from Patricia.

Davis is ATROCIOUS in pass coverage... All he had to do was look for the ball and try to knock it down on the throw to Zeke at the end...

Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 172 ? Lions and Cowboys Postgame Show. 70 minutes.
Listen to this Podcast...

In this live episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris is joined by Mike ?The Ambling Bastard? to conduct a live postgame therapy session for Lions fans frustrated by the loss that the Detroit Lions suffered at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys today.

Coming off of their big win against the Patriots, hopes were high for a big win this week. Unfortunately the Cowboys, Lions, and the officials did their best to ensure the even Matthew Stafford and his late-game heroics wouldn?t be enough.

Detroit Lions Podcast Postgame Breakdown
Highlights of the game include Matthew Stafford?s play, Golden Tate, and Kenny Golladay. Low point were the performances by Jamal Agnew, and the Lions run defense. I?ll have to add that there was some highly questionable officiating on the field today ? something Lions fans have become all too accustomed to.

In the end, it was a close game that had the Lions in the lead until a last second kick put the Cowboys over the Lions by two points. Heartbreaking, yet still a winnable game.

Nah that's on Bob Quinn.

I didn't forget shit btw lol. The offense did their job. Dallas D is no joke. Took a tad longer than what we would like but Stafford an co put us in a postion to win the game. Only flaw??? Scoring too early and giving a garbage QB like Dak Prescott to win the game. He literally drove the Cowboys down the field with ease. Prescott is probably the worst "starting" QB in the NFL (off the top of my head) and Detroit's D made him look like a star QB. Offense isn't the problem on this team. We are in games because of our offense. Focus on the Defense. They're pure garbage

You're dumb. They had no choice but to pay him. They need him out there. He's a ****ing china doll. The only positive I see out of this is that Ansah is as good as gone next yr. He can go be someone elses problem.

Agreed 100%. But you do have to blame quins priorities during the off season for that.

We switched to a 3-4 without the correct personnel to do it
We drafted oline and rb with the first 2 picks in the draft
We didn't address the pass rush at all outside of a couple scraps like eli harold and dennard.

What that equates to is a defense littered with holes... every single big run from sunday is right up the middle. The 3 down lineman can't eat up blocks and the 4 lbs can't fill for shit.

Everyone knew that the defense was going to suck... can't blame them. People were hoping hiring this defensive genius we could scheme our way into being good on that side of the ball. Doesn't work that way... still need players.

With all that said we're back to needing Stafford to outscore opponents in order to win... and 10 points thru 3 qtrs typically isn't going to cut it. Can't ask the defense to step up... they don't have it in them.

Ps... if agnew ever sees the field again on defense then im taking patricias degree away cause he's one stupid mother ****er.

Obviously, the defense blows. The offense should be better but that's not on Stafford. He is being limited by a vanilla offense. JBC is a moron. Some of these other offenses are dynamic not only because they have playmakers but they have innovative play calling. Patricia should have brought in somebody with an imagination.

Vanilla offense + shitty defense = another losing season

Kerryon still only seeing about a third of the snaps

This staff’s love affair (or lack thereof) with certain personnel on both sides of the ball just baffles me.

I do believe that the 100-yard rusher drought was self-inflicted to a degree. This team has a tendency to drift away from the run early, regardless of whether it’s working or not, then they get themselves into trouble causing them to further abandon the run.
