Game 4: Lions @ Cowboys Thread

Blount shouldn't see the field unless it's a "goalline" situation. Johnson should be the every down back.

I'd like to see Blount in the same capacity that the Cowboys used Rod Smith last night. Change of pace, regardless of field location, just to give KJ a spell.

In the first four games . Taking out the two pick 6's, and punt return .. one score for the offense and two on the defense .

The defense giving up 25 a game.
The offense is only averaging 21 a game.

Why does it take till the 4th quarter for this team to wake up other then 1 game ?

Lmao
Jets only win. Lions.
49ers only win Lions.

The defense stinks but this team never starts on time. You can't lose to the Jets and 49ers, and our franchise qb did not play very well in either game . ESPICALLY THE JETS GAME. He missed wide open guys all day early in SF only to wake up down 30-13 after Blount stood up for his qb.

You're dumb. They had no choice but to pay him. They need him out there. He's a fucking china doll. The only positive I see out of this is that Ansah is as good as gone next yr. He can go be someone elses problem.

Why did we need to franchise him this year but don't next year? Quinn chose to spend 17.5 million on him. He was under no obligation to pay that.

Because believe it or not, Ansah is the only legit threat rushing the QB on that DLine. When healthy, he's a stud. Problem is, he isn't healthy lol. Time to move on from this guy. Quinn took the chance and it's backfired.

We needed Ziggy this year. My guess is they thought “well, if he can do that injured, what could he do if he gets healthy in the offseason”.

It makes sense. It didn’t keep them from signing any FA’s. He just can’t stay healthy. Time to move on.

Im actually excited to see how this off season goes. According to Spotrac....Lions will have an estimated $47.9M to spend with nobody due for big pay days (possibly Tate, but that shouldn’t be too much). DeMarcus Lawrence, Jedavion Clowney, Brandon Graham, Dante Fowler Jr will all be FA.

Last season it was all about Ansah only being productive a few games, disappearing in others, and suddenly now he's a stud.

Whoa, slow down Paul Walker. NOBODY called him a stud. As I said, he was clearly the best option we had without giving up resources. That?s it. He WAS only productive in 3 games.....and invisible in 11. However, to my point, if he could do that injured.....if he could somehow get healthy in the off season there was certainly reason to believe he could be very productive.

It didn?t work.

Now, we get to drop his $17.5M from the books and use it to sign a couple good players.

Tony sort of did. But the point was we complained about him a lot last season. The 3 games productive, the rest invisible? Are you say he was healthy for 3 games and injured for 11? Meaning if he had 3 good games why injured why not play like that more? Though it really comes down to he hasn't been the guy that we hoped for.

I like the Paul Walker reference, may he rest in peace.

I wouldn't sign Tate. He's will be 31 next year.

One think I did not understand Kerryon has been playing well. Gets 100 yards vs NE, rare for a Lions RB, so what do they do 9 carries vs the Cowboys. I get that 32 yards was one run but what's the point of trying to fix the running game and not use him. Same thing VS SF.

My guess is the lions were behind in both games espically the 49er games (30-13), and Cowboys (20-10) . Although there was plenty of opportunity in the Cowboys game to use him. Jbc is a awful oc. What do you expect. He has so many offensive weapons to only be averaging between 21-22 points a game.

So down 10 3rd Q and you stop running? But I just saw this..

?I think we have a lot of really good running backs and I think we try to use them appropriately,? Patricia said.

This is just my opinion on that subject. I think Patricia likes Blount. Heard/read a story that Blount is a HUGE locker room presence and ol pencil ear needs him to help with the younger players to buy in and some of the vets as well.

I get all that. New coach. New scheme. Results aren?t there yet. Need a guy who is respected to help keep the ship afloat.

HOWEVER, Kerryon is clearly the better option at this point....it?s time to set relationships aside and line up your best players. Keep Blount around, certainly, and he can have a role as a short yardage specialist.....but if KJ doesn?t get 15-20 touches a game you?re screwing the other 52 guys out of a better chance to win.

I have heard on different shows maybe they are just easing Johnson into the NFL. He may not be ready for full ground pounding. I agree with all of you he should be used more . But the nfl is not college. Hopefully soon he will be ready for the workload.

The offense has to average more then 21 points a game. How long will Patrica let Stafford have his security blanket in Cooter? Jbc has to be freaking better.
