Game 5: Eagles @ Lions Thread

I have been mostly "Lions free" this season. I watched the first quarter of game one and the second half of the Packers loss, only because they were on TV where I was, but nothing else. No college football, no other pro football, and very little Lions. I also tuned out on politics and the sorry ass Tigers to some degree. I find myself much less angry and much more productive on weekends. I highly recommend it, at least for a spell. I love football and am sure I will return to it at some point, but presently I'm not missing it a bit.

Living an hours drive from NE patriots, I don't get to watch the Lions, Some on the NFL channel for updates, and Thanksgiving day.
It has probably kept me from going full blown strait jacket after the years of futility and so many with Tigers baseball.

This team is unwatchable this year. You aren't missing a thing. Any team void of talent on defense is not worth watching

Not void. Severley injured de and lb. Which hurts the coverage

You're silly, Levy is done. Learn how to cope/accept that. Guy doesn't want to play, and even if he does he's damn year 30 and WONT get back to what he was. It sucks, but its the truth. We need Ansah, but everybody else on the line is no good. Hyder is getting a sack a game, but outside of those sacks he vanishes. Ngata is BARELY a shell of what he once was. We get no push at the LOS, hints why qbs are absolutely shredding us, and completing passes at an unheard of rate.

Yikes, not even a shell, he's barely a shell. So, he's like a clam?

It probably has much to do with most of you guys who have posted regularly here and espn days being very passionate about the Lions. Plus, all of you know all the players, schemes, matchups of which I am more casual.
One thing I think is if the regulars were not injured, they 'could' be 2 wins 2 losses, I don't know if Tate is pouting, or with Stafford spreading his passes to more WR and RB less targets. Depth with these backups will be a problem when starters are injured until they get better backups. That's all I got.

Bandwagon? Haha. The idea of bandwagon is rooting for a team that is good at one time.. How can I be a bandwagon after 40 years of Lions football?

Just repoerted on MLive that Levy has injured his knee. Has not practiced since week one yet injures his knee.

Hr only watches when they are good. Fairweather fan then

Eric Ebron - TE - Lions
Eric Ebron (ankle, knee) is not expected to play against the Eagles in Week 5.
He's been battling an ankle injury all season and now has a knee issue to contend with. Ebron has fared poorly this year, earning PFF's third-lowest tight end grade out of 57 qualifiers. Cole Wick and Khari Lee will fill in during his likely absence.

Lions
Lions WLB DeAndre Levy (knee, quad) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.
A quad injury has kept Levy out since Week 2, but this is the first time he's been listed with a knee issue. The Lions have been mum on his status but we're guessing Levy won't be out there Sunday against the Eagles.

I'd venture to guess that everyone on this board has watched more total Lions games than games where the Lions were what a sane, normal person would call 'good'.

Bandwagon Red Wings, Tigers, and Pistons fans? Sure, I can see it. Lions bandwagon? If they exist, they haven't watched more than 60 games in the last 20 years and that's being generous.

almost can't be a fair weather fan since they are almost never good.

How about just a fan of a team that disappoints every year....a Lion's fan.

Retire already

What do you mean? His injury status has single handedly led to at least a half dozen true wins over the last few years.

which also led him being selected to the first team true all pro team. He was MVP of the true SB and went to true Disney World!

I think he is going to be a first ballot HOF player inducted into the true Hall of Fame.
