Game 6: Lions @ Vikings Thread

Bengals miss FG game ends in a tie

Loss by the Panthers would have been good for Detroit as they will hold a tiebreaker over us in wildcard situations...

I know to early to think playoffs :)

Is this the d line we all expected but never got under gunther?

Yes. I think the major difference is teams have to scheme for blitzing LB's now. Causing confusion along the front 7 creates opportunities for 1 on 1's and free runners to the qb. Gunther's philosophy was to line up 4 guys and go. All teams had to do was line up, double Suh, maybe chip Ansah and the QB had all day. Not so much now.

The secondary gets credit too. WR had 11 catches for 87 yards today. Dominant front 7 thats giving multiple looks to the O-line coupled with really good play from the secondary.

Next week will be a great test.

Yeah it is, I've learned never to even let it cross my mind until I see an x y or z in the standings..cough cough last year case in point

Not really.....this team is one LEAGUE AVERAGE K away from 5-1. Defense is #1 in the NFL (though they are not the most talented.....and that ranking will surely fall throughout the year....this is pretty clearly a top 10 D). Offense needs to find an identity....get their stars healthy.....and this could be a special year.

Can Lombardi and Stafford get it together.....I think so.

Playoffs are in sight.

We'll see, though....tough portion of the schedule coming up.

Definitely not gunthers philosophy. He was known as a heavy blitzer. Schwartz was not,

Stafford needs to learn how to drop the ball in to a receiver to make it easier to catch instead of constantly throwing line drives over their head.

Didn't learn that in college and not in his first 6 years, doubt it suddenly clicks and he becomes accurate.

theres no reason our offense should be struggling this much other than Stafford and Lombardi. This is obviously the fear when changing coordinators. im not saying he'll never get this offense...but it sure is taking a long fucking time and yet again he looked absolutely clueless today.

Lol.....6 games????

Most QBs say it takes a year to feel comfortable in a new offense.....you're giving him 6 games?

Look at his numbers? Almost identical to Brees his first year in NO. You don't have to be a Stafford supporter.....but giving any QB 6 games to Be completely comfortable in a new offense shows your lack of football knowledge. Especially given he has been without the worlds best WR for 3 of them and the guy playing an EXTREMELY important role in that offense, Ebron, is a rookie.

Oh, and he's led them to a 4-2 record (should be 5-1 with a K) and you're still complaining.

Troll on, Troll boy!

Cowboys about to pull out a win in Seattle. I never would have guessed that.

It doesnt matter.

Say carolina will finish 9-6-1 they would of been 9-7 with this loss.

Either way the lions would need to be 10-6 to beat them. Since 9-7 they wouldnt make it now because Carolina has less losses, even if Carolina lost they would of advanced based on tie breaker head to head. The only way this matters to the lions is if the lions have a tie as well.

Defense has led us.
Brees finished #3 rated QB his first year.
Manning had 105 QB rating first year back from season long injury, new offense, new team.
Backup TE is a very important role?

You need to learn how to fucking read, idiot. I never said any of that in any of my posts. And comfortable in the offense or not. ...hes still one of the worlds most inaccurate passers.

#1 - agreed. It absolutely has.

#2 - good. I don't think Stafford will get there, but top 10 is possible.

#3 - lol. WTF are you talking about? It's Peyton Manning. Nobody is comparing him to Peyton Manning. And Manning very much is his own offensive coordinator....nobody thinks otherwise. He's been in his system for 15+ years now. An absolutely terrible example brewer.

#4 - the TE role in a Lombardi offense is important. Ebron will get there, but he's cert not the yet.

Id rather be a troll than just plain dumb....he obviously has no idea what hes talking about.

Negatives...OLine is terrible, Ebron is a mirage, nobody offensively stepped up, Stafford looked scared.

Positive....Defense, defense, defense, Riddick looked good before he was hurt, DLine was off the charts, Whitehead is a good LB, road win.

Basically what I got off of today's game.
