I cannot think of a worse play they could have called. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't #76, Oday Aboushi, just left roaming the flat while Clellin Ferrell had a nearly free run at Stafford??

No Golladay, no Jones, no McKissic. Just plain stupid. As good as he can be.....he outsmarts himself sometimes.

But they play works so well in practice. Defense never stops it in practice.

Head coach Matt Patricia has designed this defense, while coordinator Paul Pasqualoni calls the plays on Sundays. They?ve spent the last two offseasons acquiring players to run the system, including splashy free-agent signings like Trey Flowers and Devon Kenanrd; big trades like the one for Snacks Harrison; and high-round draft picks like Jahlani Tavai, Tracy Walker and Will Harris.

Just a thought but Maybe, the first couple of years Quinn was here, he drafted players designed for Caldwell, and they are behind in getting players to fit what Patricia wants.

Patricia said that pasqualoni calls the defense and does the game plan. So my question is this...why? If that's true he's gonna cost this team more games and Patricia his job. Either go get someone else to coach the defense last i checked Rex Ryan is just talking about the game on tv and at least he's been successful or take the thing over and start to make some changes. For as good as the defense looked at times last year this defense is nowhere near what they were. They look like the first half of the season defense that did nothing well.

DC. I mentioned this when he was hired. HC have too many other things that it's not uncommon for the DC to call plays and game plan. If I had to educate guess more often than not that's the way it's done across the league.

I think it was a movie; reality is often strained in the current century so I can?t be for certain. But he grinned loudly with shining teeth and told us that we don?t need eyes to see. As with all things, he was probably talking about the Detroit Lions.

After a brutal but close loss to the Oakland Raiders, mood is on the down-low in Detroit. Back in the losing column, the Lions don?t have many answers on how they can possibly make the NFL playoffs with this second half of football ahead of them.

We also break down a key hypothetical question which illuminates faith in the coaching staff to make late game decisions properly, and more depressing things. It?s a full-bodied, clear-eyed podcast that maybe sets some minds at ease and paints a picture forward. Or maybe we?re just all shouting into a singularity.

Yes it's how it's typically done for sure. But when what they are calling their defense looks how it does obviously there is something wrong. I think the personnel groups are terrible davis in particular needs to come off the field on passing downs and their scheme doesnt match the strengths of the players they acquired. They can say it's fundamentals is the issue but how some of these guys went from top playmakers at their position to bottom of the barrel guys in one off season tells me its most likely on the play callers and not the players solely.

I'm sure there are much worst but 69 fumbles lost by Matt. Some were obviously recovered but it just seems like a lot.

Lions were up 14-10 and first and 10 at the 20ish I think after a Raiders flag. I get that Stafford has to carry the team but you can work in stuff over the middle. Throw that ball away the wr was covered to freaking good. That Int changed the game from the Raiders chasing the Lions to the Lions chasing the Raiders. Killer Int with this defense .
