Get StartedAnd every team out there throws bullpen games at times, when there are situations where they don't have five starters. Our problem is that we have too many pitchers that are out of options to be able to constantly rotate starters with Toledo, and we are on the fence when it comes to buying or selling, though anyone that is being realistic shouldn't be expecting us to compete for the postseason this year.If they don't have 5 starters get one. What team doesn't have 5 starters.. We've been doing it all year.
He was always going to stay on the west coast.Shame we don't have a owner who would go after Ohtani.
Or anyone for that matter.
Probably butHe was always going to stay on the west coast.
The Tigers are a mid club they can't spend that cash. Plus if you know he won't come what's the point.Probably but
Don't know if you don't try.
Have a look at Ohtani's contract. They are selling their future away in a much larger way than the Cabrera contract, with even more risk involved. It makes more sense for a team that has most of the other pieces in place, but it doesn't make sense for the Tigers as they are put together now.Probably but
Don't know if you don't try.
Detroit averaged almost 3 million fans when the illich's had the one 10 year period in which they were decent. Imagine the crowds with him. Maybe that is the issue. We have one of the richest owners in baseball act like he isn't.The Tigers are a mid club they can't spend that cash. Plus if you know he won't come what's the point.
All owners are rich and they could all spend 300m a year. But they don't like losing money. And like I said Ohtani would never come here, offer him a billion dollars and he wouldn't come.Detroit averaged almost 3 million fans when the illich's had the one 10 year period in which they were decent. 2006-2015 go look at the attendance figures. They are impressive.
The point is that you try . Get some good PR. It may help with other free agents. All owners are rich and they could all spend 300m a year. But they don't like losing money. And like I said Ohtani would never come here, offer him a billion dollars and he wouldn't come.
Detroit is not a hot destination. Best we can hope for is draft or trade.. When is the last time a free agenct a top guy chose to sign here, out of his prime Pudge? I wouldn't choose Detroit given the chance. The point is that you try . Get some good PR. It may help with other free agents.
Agree to disagree like normal.
Let's move on.
