I don't remember a team with more defensively talent in my years.

I do. The Lions defenses of the late 60s-to-1970 were outstanding relatively speaking.

You're kidding me, right? Lol.
Lions made the playoffs six times in the 90s, and that 58-37 loss to the Eagles still stands in relief. Don't recall them winning a playoff game, either.

It wasn't luck, if the defense felt like showing up against a back-up QB last week, they wouldn't have gotten the Saints.

Great I have to wait another year and hope Matt can stay healthy all season , and hope we get a running game, and hope we get some defensive players that can catch a INT or tackle, and hope we get a defensive coach that scraps the wide nine.. We have to hope some of the calls may go Detroit's way when in fact in only one playoff game in my life has things bounced our way. You have to take advantage like the fucking # 6 seed Packers did last year and make a damn run this year and not wait and hope for next time around. You have the best receiver in the damn game and down 10 you throw a jump ball to the midget receiver who i like but just not playing basketball. You get two fumbles in which one should have been a TD and Scott L. goes conservative right after both. Did i mention the 3 dropped INT's on horrible balls thrown by the great Drew Brees.. Not one holding call on the Saints... Right i buy that.. Yes its great to have an improvement from 0-16 but its not enough... That old Fart William Clay Ford does not deserve a Super Bowl Championship for how poorly he has run the Lions but all of us fans who have hoped every year this would be our year do... The lions were only 4 damn wins away from making all of us Lions fan's happy.. But now its wait till next year again...My dad's years are running out and so are mine.. I am tired of waiting.

Or the Browns in 2007 when they were 10-6 with young talent.. Things can change on a dime... ANd they need a fucking average defense.. Just average... Not the runny fecal matter like we saw last night..
They were good the one year with Romeo Crennel.. Granted, he sucked the last year, but I feel they fired him too quick.. I agree the GM situation was horrible.. I'm just saying in 2007 they were the "up and coming team" like the Lions were.. Young Derrick Anderson, Young Braylon and Winslow and a decent run game with Jamal Lewis but a mediocre defense.. Just seeing somewhat of parallel here to how things could change in a hurry.. You can say we have a bright future but it isn't set in stone either.. Regardless, the defense needs some changes and fast..SLICK said:tigers99888 said:Mitch must be on helium.. Seriously dude.. the Browns were decimated by an idiot GM just like the Lions were...he made some real real bad decisions...hiring Mangni then trading their #5 to the Jets for a bunch of Manginis guys that were absolute trash....like the Lions they were put years backwards , had to blow it up and start all over.

My only theory is it has to be the coaching staff not getting the most or using the players correctly.

Spievey, Wright, Smith and Berry don't even add up to one adequate DB.
