This is what I don't get....what studio ref Mike Perria (sp?) keeps saying. He didn't make a move common to the game. What does that mean? He had 3 feet down and dives forward to reach the ball across the goal line. How is that not a football move or a move common to the game?

Why does a receiver have to do insane shit to demonstrate he has possession?

In my opinion the going to the ground was as a result of trying to secure the catch. In my mind I don't think he had control with feet on the ground and made a conscious decision to dive forward. I saw it as all one motion.
I agree with the call, I thought as the rule is written, they made a good decision.

You must have not seen the replay very good. It very clearly goes through his hands and hits the ground. It was not a catch.

He had already caught it as far as I'm concerned, Looked good to me I would have let it stand, it's a very stupid stupid rule imo

The more I see it I dnt think the ball every actually hit the ground it was his elbow that hit first causing the ball to jar loose at which he then resecured so again, ball never hits the ground he's not out of bounds yet they overturn the call on the field and take the game away from poor jerry. lol games decided on flags and replays at the descrestion of the league lol...rigged rigged rigged

Same as CJ. It's the rule now. You might not like and using as a way to keep saying rigged but it wasn't a catch the way the rule is written.

In any event the ball did hit the ground..check the eyes.

I'd like to see a still shot of the ball in contact with the ground I'm not saying it didn't just that I'm not convinced it did, I think his arm was under the ball before it poped up and it was his elbow contact with the ground that jarred it, either way it's a dumb rule and just another tool in the bag they can use to help control outcomes when the opportunity presents itself..its ok mitch it's not something to get upset about just see it for what it all really is is all,,controlled slanted not garenteed rather just if and when possible error on the side of GB, last week it was error on the side of Dallas, next week prolly error on the side of Seattle...idk

Check out the link that Bob posted. Right at 10 second mark the ball hits the ground and bounces out of his hands.

Thanks, his arm is also still around it,I'd argue that he still had controll right there at that split second it pops up on him after coming into contact with the ground at which he then resecured, should still be a catch imo either way this rule needs to stop it so friggen dumb...so many things can be questioned on that catch, football move going for the end zone imo as well. It's all at the desecration of the zebras and replays...which makes it all nice and convienant

Call on the field was a catch I'd also argue not enough conclusive proof that it was on the ground at a moment at which his arm wasn't still in possesion of it, inconclusive call on the field stands idk error on the side of the home team then maybe?

For, completing the process, all they need to see to overturn is ball touching the ground. So they don't need conclusive evidence or whatever. It's not the same as a fumble or INT or 1st down etc.

But if the ball never pops up then it's still good? The rule is really dumb

I'm not watching the Indy game what happened? It wouldn't be the refs per say rather just say the NFL or maybe Vegas who knows I don't know the why just that it is

There was a punt return the guy didn't complete the process and Denver recovered the punt. Even the ref in the booth thought it'd stand, they reversed went back to Indy. I don't even know what completing the process is any more..

Peyton Manning....now 9 times he's been 1 and done in the playoffs. And it seems like they are always the favorite to win.

The NFL wants Indy to win!
