Gholston update

Of course, you're not going to believe that your team is dirty. You're biased.

Understood, you think its a great game plan to deliver late hits to a QB in order to shake his confidence...Sounds like something Narduzzi would say.

Ya, because all I remember reading after the last 4 games was how dirty of a team MSU was. Apparently no one else thought they were dirty games either.

I'm definately an advocate of getting a couple shots on the qb after he releases the ball, but thats the defensive player in my coming out. I'm biased towards the defensive perspective, what can I say. None of the hits were malicious, they were all text book wrap-up tackles. If they were blindside spearing the kid I'd definately have a problem. Btw, you and the Spartan troll make a good pair, I'll let you two continue to go at it.

I see nothing wrong with getting in a few late hits to disrupt a QB's timing as long as they aren't malicious tackles which Rush's clearly wasn't. I feel a big problem in these arguments is that they are being carried on between people who for the most part never played the game. Why do you think Denard and Gholston were cool for the rest of the game after the helmet incident, its a physical game, emotions run high and shit does happen. If someone does cross the line they deserve punishment, but judging from how Gholston carried himself after that helmet incident, it's obvious he was ashamed of what he had done and showed nothing but class to Denard for the rest of the game. Gholston will get his game suspension and is in the dog house as we speak, move on with life.

Like I said, you condone late hits on the QB in order to throw off timing. We get that. I played football. I didn't do this.

Move on with life? Why don't you? Why are you still visiting the Michigan section. YOU have a big game with UW coming up. US? Well, we can talk about the bye week, i guess...

I am disappointed in the coaches for not instilling a little more discipline, it's the only thing that kept Michigan in it, but I'm not disappointed for them defending their guys, it's what I would expect and want from any coach and when a Michigan player crosses the line I have no doubt Hoke will defend him to the Press. These are 20 year old kids, it's their coaches jobs to defend them.

All kinds of coaches will come out and say, "The behavior displayed by said player is unacceptable and I will do everything I can to ensure that it isn't repeated." I've heard it plenty, but you'll never hear it from Dantonio.

I didn't get beat. Michigan did. You didn't win. I didn't lose. It has nothing to do with a superiority complex or losing.

What were you thinking before you clicked on the MIchigan board..."I wonder if they're still talking about State?!?!" We're the ones obsessed, though...got it, troll.

I'll be damned if I'm gonna keep my mouth shut when you guys have a whole thread devoted to whining and crying as well as attacking my school and our coaches and players. You're damn right I'm over here defending them although I have condemned Gholston's cheap shots over and over.

It's this whole attitude attacking the team's and coaches integrity and acting like U of M is somehow superior that is pathetic and lame. I guess it's all you have to hold onto right now though after the humiliation the Wolverines suffered on the field Saturday. That's some weak ass shit and the next time U of M beats State I'll be the 1st to say good game, you guys were better today, congratulations on the win.

You'll go up the players and say "you guys were better, congrats on the win?" Look, fans don't deserve congratulations. I don't know where you keep getting that. You didnt' do anything. Most of us came on here and said that MSU was the better team and deserved to win...then we moved on to talk about issues that are still out there. That is not an unresolved issue, so obviously it won't get much talk. There are investigations going on into these other issues and we're interested to see what happens just like we'd be interested if it was a player on Wisconsin that had done them to Denard. MSU isn't special on that account.

Differing defensive philosophies, that's fine. Agree to disagree. Sorry, lol, I'm bored as shit at work and its fun discussing stuff on this board as opposed to the espn trollfest. Wisconsin is gonna pummel us.

The funny thing is that in the real world, when I talk to Spartans that I actually know, I say the better team won, and they express their disappointment in the coaches.

Weird, most of the Spartan fans that I know say that they're happy that Ghoulston and Co did that and that they hope they do it next year, too. They say, "that's how we play. If you don't like it, win" as if I can win...

I guess we'll see what Hoke will do when and if that happens. I hope he comes out and says that the behavior is wrong and that it will be handled appropriately.

I guess that may be the difference between the MIchgian fanbase and the MSU fan base...or at least A difference.

I just find it interesting that MSU fans keep asking why we're still talking about MSU. Well, there are developments in this story that are still to come. Michigan doesn't have a game this weekend. The game the next weekend is Purdue and that is really uninspiring. Who the better team was and who deserved to win was already established. It'd be really weird if we were still here discussing who the better team was and who deserved to win...

Yeah, I guess I'll look for most of the U of M fans to throw their guys under the bus the next time an incident happens with one of their guys. Just like they have done with their guy last year and just like they've done with the face mask on Baker this year that was missed. Sure.

I'd be interested in seeing a clip of the Baker facemask play. All I see is a still photo. Did it happen after the play or as a part of the play? Tackling by the facemask happens all the time. That was not at the bottom of a pile, as you can clearly see there are only 2 people in that still photo. Before commenting on that situation, I'd like to see a clip. We have seen a clip of the entire Ghoulston necktwist. The situations are not identical.

Helmet twist, bottom of a pile, after play = deserves multiple game suspension

tackle including hand on facemask during play = 15 yard penalty

big difference.

If it is as bad, I expect to see you on here throwing your guy under the bus, maybe you could start a petition to have him thrown off the team and forced to walk all the way home wearing some sort of sign.

Wow. I've heard "'eh, that stuff happens", but I haven't run into anyone that's actually happy about it. I run into few Spartan though and relocated Spartan might think a bit different from Spartans in high Spartan-density areas.

hit 'refresh' again and tell me i'm obsessed...

Nope. If I look at it and it is the exact same, I will say that it was wrong, the guy deserves a multiple game suspension, and that I would hope that Hoke, if asked about it, would say that the behavior is unacceptable and will be handled...

I never said that Ghoulston should be kicked off the team and wear a sign. That's why even an MSU fan on this forum has started to refer to you as a troll.

Yep. I even get to witness groups of Spartans discussing it seemingly amongst themselves...overhear their conversations where they are giggling and laughing at those plays.

If Michigan would have won, this thread would not exist. That is a FACT!

That is your opinion. I think it would exist whether Michigan had won or lost to MSU, UW, IU, or any other team the previous saturday and someone on that team had done what was done.

OPINION!!

The discussion would be short because there would be no Spartans over here and everyone would be in agreement.

But it would definitely be talked about. National newspapers are talking about it. They don't care who won.

If I start a thread on the MSU board attacking the Wolverine players and coaches I would expect at least a few Wolverine fans would have the guts to defend their guys. Hell, U of M fans have threads attacking MSU they started on the MSU board. Call me a troll, but I'm simply calling you guys out on some weak and petty B/S that springs out of the resentment of losing 4 in a row.

"weak BS" that got covered in national newspapers.
