It appears a Mod has doctored the voting totals....hmmmm

Kevin, not this mod. What vote change happened?
Voter retracted or poll locked as Ty posted.

Henderson and Bonds both had 9 votes earlier today (after the lock). So, for Henderson to now have 10 votes, a Mod must have changed it, right?

Maybe another mod, maybe someone changed their original vote. idk.
All I can see is who voted. I can't go in and change anything.
Hopefully the person will come forward after reading these posts on it.

See ball...hit ball. It sounds simple, but when a normal player flies out to deep outfield, a person on HGH/anabolic steroids hits it over the fence, and the change in statistics is dramatic. Bonds had a great eye at the plate, and who knows how his ability to judge pitches was changed by taking pills. But, he was clearly a cheater in SF, and may have been in Pittsburgh too, even if to a lesser degree. Perhaps he started taking one steroid, then progressed to more and more, higher doses of HGH/steroid. He gained a lot of muscle mass and his head size increased, two things that are very common when you ingest those sort of compounds. He was a great player, with a great eye, but his stats are inflated. Clearly inflated in San Fran, maybe so in Pittsburgh but not definitive. This is obvious to to me. Even still, it's fun one to debate, with no clear black and white answer. I voted for Rickey Henderson btw.

I will state this for the record. There is no proof that HGH enhances performance. What it does do is enable shorter recovery time from injuries, muscle workout, etc... And yes, it has been banned by many athletic organizations.

Steriods on the other hand enable massive mucle growth.

I forgot to put a lock on. I did mention I was closing it and then did so a few hours later. Henderson led 9-8 at that point.

About a month ago for greatest LF of all time, Williams had 12, Bonds had 9, and Henderson had 2.

Now, for greatest LF since 1969, Henderson beats Bonds, 9-8.

There's very little doubt in my mind that just about everyone here thinks Bonds is the best leftfielder since 1969. They just didn't want him winning. Period.

You're assuming that all the same people voted.

And what if every person who voted for Williams last time voted for Rickey this time?

For the Record....I don't think Bonds is the best LF since '69, if I did I would have voted for him.

Now, resume crying.

Thumb, please tell me the reason, other than stolen bases, that you think Henderson was better than Bonds.

"greatest" has been taken with a grain of salt the whole time. Tigers have probably done better than they would on another team's board, but big deal. I voted Bonds, but I don't like the guy. Other people are voting for who they like. That's part of the fun.

And by the way, I'm not whining. Whitaker was voted best second baseman since 1969, so this ain't exactly the most legit forum in the universe.

I don't have to explain my reasons for whomever I voted for in any poll.

But you came here saying we all think Bonds is the best, but don't want to admit it, I'm saying in my case at least, that's untrue.

Has the greatest catcher since 1969 been voted for yet? I'll be interested to see if everyone's bias against players suspected of steroids takes a sudden and convenient vacation.

Bench 12
Rodriguez 5
even if an vote from 1969, Piazza and Carter 1 and 0.

Greatest leadoff hitter ever, the aforementioned stolen bases, he was extremely disruptive on the bases, and dominated games moreso than pre-steroids Bonds did.

With Henderson, singles became triples. He also took walks and ended with an OBP over 400. And still almost had 300 home runs. He was the ultimate disrupter, and what teams always want - a true lead off hitter. For me, I'm not counting Bonds roid years, no way a non roided Bonds gets this those numbers.

In what solar system did he dominate games more than a 1990s Barry Bonds? Because it sure as hell wasn't this one.
