Watching the game tonight, because it's finally regular season football, and noticed how often both Rodgers and Wilson throw bad passes. Rodgers throws a pick off Nelson's hands that Nelson had no chance of catching.

Wilson's thrown three TERRIBLE balls that should have been picked but the WR's played good D and one Ha Ha dropped.

This board would be crucifying Stafford for some of these throws. Really bad.....especially Wilson.

Now, I'm not saying that makes these guys bad QB's......but it's pretty noticeable.

Always nice for a div opponent to start out with a loss, works for me

It's the first game. Their bad throws won't continue at this pace. They are both damn good quarterbacks, Rodgers especially.

Agreed. However, even though it's game 1..... It's not like Rodgers hasn't thrown thousands of passes to these guys in the last 6 weeks.

My point is, some people here rip on Staff for some of this same shit. Off the back foot without pressure...open WR missed. GB defenders make even some basic plays....Wilson has 3 picks tonight.

You can do all the training, camps, preseason you want. The regular season is just a totally different animal.

Of course we do. But it's more understandable in the first game. Stafford has been doing that stuff for five years, not game 1 in one year.

That makes no sence at all. It's ok because it's the first game? I'm sure you'd say the same if Stafford throws a pick by throwing off his back foot Monday.

It's ok guys......it's the first game.

Funny. Make excuses for Rodgers, who is a much better player......but rip Stafford.

We rip on him because he is too inconsistent and his fourth quarters suck against average or bad teams. Not against against the best defense in the league..get it?

lacy concussion ..bulaga out with a knee. Gbs poor oline got even worse. even a shitty dline like ours should be able to get to arod now.

yup those passes sucked. And when staffords passes suck we'll crucify him too. Rodgers and Wilson have done shit with their careers. Stafford has done nothing...ever. and when we have a chance to do something he completely fucks it up. so ya, we crucify Stafford on every little thing cause all those little things usually add up to a bunch of loses and no playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers has a 5-24 record when trailing in the 4th quarter. Stafford also has more game winning drives than him despite playing not near as many games.

"Aaron Rodgers has a fatal flaw. When it comes to close games, the Packers lose too many when they have a chance to win. At ESPN Insider, Scott Kacsmar pointed out Rodgers’ failures in close games in saying that this should prevent him from being considered a top quarterback.

This comes on the heels of a wild game in Cincinnati, that saw the Bengals take the lead on a fumble on 4th down that was returned for a touchdown. Green Bay still had an opportunity to win the game, but Rodgers’ fourth down pass was tipped at the line, and Cincinnati won 34-30. The Packers fell to 1-2.

[RELATED: Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy got into an Argument on the Sidelines]

That loss put the Green Bay Packers at only 9-26 in games with a fourth quarter opportunity for a game-winning drive, and 5-24 when trailing in the fourth quarter with a chance to take a lead. That puts him in dead last among all the current and retired quarterbacks listed in the article.

I already put my thoughts on quarterback won-loss records in close games out there a few years ago, when the talk of Rodgers in close games came up. In that piece, I did a quick study and noted that the correlation coefficient in close games from years 1-3 to years 4-6 for the quarterbacks examined was basically zero. (The Packers are 8-6 in games decided by 7 or less since the start of 2011). Let’s set aside, though, whether this is likely to continue and whether Rodgers really does have some sort of flaw that leads to performance in close games."

Stafford also has 10 4th quarter comebacks and 12 game winning drives to 6 and 10 for Rodgers. And that is all with Rodgers playing 94 games to Staffords 61. Now obv stafford has to win more games. I ran across this stuff a few days ago. But even I was kind of shocked to see how bad aaron was in the clutch.

Booger, this is not a trend for these guys, especially Rodgers. I think we all know they will recover in the future games and have a better passing performance (even though Wilson still had a 110 rating).

Stafford has not shown any level of consistency in the most of his career, sans 2011.

Not sure where I lost you on that.

Don't say Stafford has done nothing. When it's all said and done, Stafford will have every Lions QB record EVER. Now its time to win some playoff games and a championship.

Tony, I'm not exactly sure how amazing that would be to have all the Lions records, seeing as how this franchise has had probably the worst history of quarterbacks ever.

Also, Stafford's 3.5 full seasons, he's thrown close to 40 passes a game. That's ridiculous. A lot of these yards and records are a product of a system that allows him to get those numbers by sheer volume.

That explains it, Stafford is better than Rodgers :hmm:

Look at his last full season, 2012..Rodgers in the 4th quarter, within 7 in the 4th quarter, more than 7 in the fourth quarter..in all situations his quarterback rating are all above 100.

That record must indicate Rodgers has a lead the entire 4th quarter more often than not.

I'd take that.
