dont tease me with a good time! Ive been calling for mayhems head for 3 years. Tonys finally coming around...I read one of his posts today saying "the whole team is shit!" lol....nice job mayhem. Does he still truly believe that he can turn the Lions into a winner? No Lions HC in the SB era has ever been able to do so. Perhaps even the second coming of Vince Lombardi couldn't do it. As long as WCF Sr. & Jr. own this moribund franchise, any HC or aspiring NFL HC would or should prefer to avoid this football club like the plague.

I could retire quite comfortably on 1/8 of that amount of moolah and he obviously has already "earned" at least several multi-million before being signed to that extension.

They were 7-5 and made a good push at 3-1 to make the playoffs including 3-0 and clinching by Week 16. Could have waited a year sure but they didn't expect such an epic collapse. And if they waited his contract would be expired. Usually you extend before the final year is over. Oh well, they'll eat the last 2 years of his deal.

That is why the Lions are losers on the gridiron and the ledger.

At best, Shorts' contract extension should have been two years tacked onto the end of his original contract, and the Lions brass could have made the last year ('14) a club option depending upon results in '12-'13.

But nope, in what is classic Lions fashion, they hamstring themselves for the near future by essentially doubling down on his original deal in '09...lololol!!
