Not sure why Goins and Tillman keep ending up with the ball vs the full court press.

Also, Ward is dominating in the first half and makes ONE mental mistake and turns it over and sits the last 5 minutes. I just don?t get Izzo. No wonder we always lose out on the premier recruits. It?s got to be used against us that Izzo doesn?t let players play through mistakes.

3 minutes into the 2nd half and we have Goins, Ahrens and Tillman in. I just don’t get Izzo anymore.

Goins has cement hands. 4 times I’ve counted balls going off his hands for turnovers. Our guards have a big enough problem with to’s. Don’t need his stone hands giving them even more.

Ward is atrocious defensively. How many times can you stand there flat footed and not drop back to the hoop after your man rolls off a screen?

Ward is atrocious defensively

He tries to help too much and loses his man sometimes, but his defense isn?t even in the same world bad like Goins and Ahrens offense and both of those stiffs are on the floor with 3 minutes to go. We?re basically playing 3 on 5 on the offensive end

I might be in the minority but even without the injury I think Ahrens is better than Mcquaid and deserves more minutes.

McQuaid is the only other ball handler in the rotation. That?s our biggest problem

Well our lead is now gone as Ward sat the bench. So there’s that

Biggest possession of the game with a minute to go and we come out on offense with McQuaid, Ahrens and Tillman with Winston and Langford. Shocker we turned it over

Snuck out of there with a win, but we really should have won that game by 20.

Ugly win but it beats a loss. Really upset with some of our lineups, our sets were just awful too. Dribble at the top of the key for 20 seconds, maybe mix in a dribble handoff or two, then attempt to go iso, feed the post from the top of the key (fail) or try a pick and roll that works less than 50% of the time.

Not pretty, but its a road win against a probable NCAA tournament team. One of those quadrant whatever wins that will add to the resume in March. I'll take it.

I hate Florida but I do hope they make the tourney. They?re only 5-4 at the moment unfortunately, they lost to FSU by about 20 early in the year.

I watched them beat West Virginia (who admittedly has some issues) pretty decisively the other night. I think they're still a top 5-6 team in the SEC.

Good road win. Cassius strugglesd. Tillman and Ahrens came up huge late in the game.

A win is a win. Offense struggled, but Florida has a great defense, one of the best in the country.

Ahrens is a lot better athlete than people realize.

We have arguably the most dominate offensive big man in the nation and our coach sits him for half the game. THIS is why Izzo can’t close blue chip recruits fellas. I guanantee other coaches point out players like Davis, Ward and JJ minutes to recruits. Hell this goes all the way back to Zach Randolph not getting 20 minutes because he was losing minutes to Adam Ballinger.

Also, how bad did he miss on Foster Loyer? Can’t get a couple minutes a half out of him to spell Winston? Should’ve just found a grad transfer and rolled that scholarship

Only played 8 guys today, remarkably short bench for Izzo, luckily we didnt have any foul trouble.

Not calling Loyer a miss yet, hes not that far off Neitzel as a freshman, we just didnt have any other pg's on the roster but neitzel would never shoot and just dribble into corners.

I'll take a solid road win playing less than our best game. Hell of a schedule stretch with UCLA, Texas, Louisville, iowa Rutgers and Florida, all power 5 and I'd say 5 of 6 are tournament teams. Only one home game in the last month or so.
