Hoops vs MSU

Up 6 at half. Just steam rolled again because of really poor offense.

Didn’t show up at Penn st, Wisconsin , Iowa, and MSU both times .

Embarrassing second half.

Espically 3 of those games .

Fuck the disparity in fouls. We were out rebounded

46-21!

That is the ball game in a nutshell. Effort plays went to MSU.

Up 6 at halftime.
Out scored 46-28 in the second half because we don’t want to run
The offense right.

Wish we played last game every year.

That’s what the dudes that were broadcasting the game said.

Anyway Michigan doesn’t win the Big Ten regular season championship or even share it, that said the season as far far from over.

It could be a blessing in disguise that Michigan had to bring its auto auto bench into the game because of to get a high-pressure big game experience For going forward.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this regular season and I’m very much looking forward to to the postseason.

They are just not as good as we all thought. Down 2 players and State beats the shit out of us in the 2nd half 2 games in a row. Better bench on the other side by miles. I dont see this team getting very far in the tournament at all, but next year we should be much better. JB has to get those young kids up to snuff. They look completely lost.

I think a lot of us were concerned with how little playing time the bench got even during that 17-0 start. It sucks that our lone senior and arguably best all around player has been out these last few games. Hopefully Matthews comes back with fresh legs and can lead us on a run. If we see the second weekend, I'll be pretty happy.

This loss is on Simpson mostly. He runs the offense. Then Teske. Neither showed up.
He just disappeared in the second half and when he did in fact blow by his guy could not finish the easy bunnies... Happened more the a few times. The whole team could not get a rebound. The offense just was not ran very Well starting from about the 6 minute mark of the first half. To many rushed shots. Way to many. Or dribbling to much then shooting l

Again there is no reason to sit anyone with 1 foul, and Iggy never should have been subbed out when he got his third foul. Roll the dam on dice. Michigan was up 10 points multiple possessions in the first half and never not once ran anything worth a damn.

Go look at the play by play in the first half. Oh at 3:12 one of the few layups/hook Simpson made put Michigan up 35-23 Oh and we had the ball and Simpson missed a three on next possession.
Msu closes half on a 6-0 run to cut lead to 35-29. Frustrating.

Seems to me that Simpson got caught up with trying to outplay Winston both games and seemed to mess up the usual rhythm of the offense. I haven?t seen all of your games, but I?ve seen enough to know that?s not your usual offensive flow.

Tinsel, I think you meant to quote my post and ended up editing your comment on to mine

Well, I'm not upset.

Considering no one knew how we'd replace the scoring we lost from MAAR and Wagner this year, and really expected more of a setback, to be playing for the Big Ten season title as of TODAY, last game of the regular season, is pretty solid.

State is a lot deeper and more experienced than us, and it showed today.

Hope we get them again (with a different officiating crew)

Only in the second half. i thought simpson played better in the 1st.

Not as good as we thought they were? What the fuck is happening here? We had a bad night in an extremely tough environment where the refs had a hard on for fouling Iggy out.

We sucked ass on the boards, but don't even pretend the refs weren't important in this game.

Oh. Anyway it was a very exciting season for both rivals, especially since both were ranked in the top 10 for much or most of the regular season.

Congratulations to the Spartans, obviously, for winning their share of the B1G regular season championship.

I thought there was a lot of respect between the fans of both programs on this board throughout the season and as an older guy from the state of Michigan who is going to turn 60 within less than two years, I like to see that kind of thing.

So it is onto the B1G tournament for both teams and then of course the NCAA championship tournament for both.

Oh you?re right-I didn?t mean to edit your post at all. Congratulations On the Spartans win. I think you have explained my editing screwup to everybody by this time- no reason for me to try to go back And a compound my screwup by trying to re-edit my mistake-I think everybody has figured it out by now.

Anyway, once again congrats of the Spartans, and on to the postseason.

Since starting 17-0 the teams 9-5 the last 14 games. Wish thy could bottle up th games verses Villanova and Unc. I’m still not buying how great the Acc is.

I think UNC is getting too much love right now. They got demolished by Michigan, lost to Kentucky on a neutral court, got to play Duke twice without Zion and didn't get it done at home vs Virginia.

I guess we'll find out this week though in the ACC tournament how that conference shakes out. Whoever advances further out of Duke/UNC along with Virginia will probably be one seeds, along with Gonzaga and either Kentucky/Tennessee.

It seems like Big Ten teams consistently get screwed in seeding so I'm expecting the committee to look for any excuse to still drop MSU (or UM for that matter) to a 3 after the tournaments next weekend. Lack of quadrant 1 wins worked against us last year, and this year we lead the country (or tied with Kentucky) in that area and it'll be some other reason. And yeah UNC will get all kinds of credit for beating Zion-less Duke while Duke will get a complete pass for losing those games which will all further prop up the ACC, while us losing to IU without Ward will get thrown in our face.
