Hoops vs Texas Tech

don't flatter yourself - I'm not obsessed with you and I've yet to see you prove anyone wrong here. I see you pull this 3rd grade stuff all them time though, especially when dubbs and even that knucklehead wolves24 dare to disagree with you.

it was a legitimate serious question, not an argument and I thought maybe you had grown up a little bit after that conversation about ward in the other thread. but if you want to be baby and throw a tantrum and pretend I'm trying to antagonize you rather than explain what you meant, go right ahead.

Just ignore it, most Michigan fans here don't even seem to like him. He's obsessed with msu, that's for sure.

If MSU makes the Final Four then it's the most accomplished team since 2009 or 2010, but "best" is a pretty subjective thing. Last year's team had more talent and accomplished a lot but wasn't experienced enough. The 2016 team appeared to be capable of winning it all, until the unthinkable happened in Round 1. 2014 same deal but injuries somewhat derailed that team (and a poor effort vs UConn in the Elite 8). 2014 was certainly more talented than this team. 2012 (Draymond's senior year) won a share of the BT regular season, the BTT and grabbed a #1 seed. That team reminds me some of this year, except they lost in the Sweet 16, so let's not hope for a repeat of that.

If it's MSU's best team in awhile it's not by much and has a lot of competition.

UM should be very good next year. They should return at minimum 4 starters. But in order to win the Big Ten, a better bet is hope those players progress and they go out and take it rather than relying on MSU to drop off (which has only happened a few times here and there over the past 22 years). I'd expect MSU to be very good again returning at minimum Winston, Langford (assuming he's healthy), Tillman and Henry, Ahrens with 1 potential impact newcomer (Watts). Ward is a question mark but if he returns, the top 10 is a pretty good bet again. If not, some other people need to grow up, but still a good team. I do fear we might miss McQuaid and Goins more than we realize though.

If we can find 70% of Goins defense in someone that can add something on offense, he will be an afterthought. He improved this year and had a couple really good shooting nights, but he disappeared on offense a lot more than he shined. The defense will probably slip a bit though losing him and McQuaid. My biggest concern is who will be our third 3 point shooter. The question mark around Ward if he comes back is will he destroy team chemistry if he ends up being the backup to Tillman.

I think uofm will be in the same position next year - serious contender for the conference but with depth being their biggest issue. They'll need Poole to get his head out of his ass, play more consistently and be a better teammate on the floor.

Gotta cut Hungry some slack. He works with democrats all day every day.

I think this is easily MSU's best "team" in a while, when you consider "team" to mean "able to play the sport of basketball well together" and not "most talented 5 guys on the roster"

Other squads over the last couple years may have had more potential or more talent, but the guys Izzo played this season would take ALL of them apart, from what I saw.

We get too wrapped up in player hype & potential to see our own teams objectively sometimes.

Hi, Matt. You seem like a good dude. I'll explain what I meant to you.

Yes, Accomplished/best, whichever term you want to use. While watching this year's version of MSU, I thought they played as a team with cohesiveness. I'm not looking back as far as you are when I say, "in a while." I'm not going to look up what they did years back to justify what I said, while you probably just remember off the top of your head. This year's TEAM won a share of the Big 10 regular season title, the Big Ten tournament, and they have made the sweet 16. I know they did not do all of those in '16, '17, or '18. They might have had better players with better NBA futures, but I think this is the best team that MSU has had for at least these 4 years.

If they were to match up on the court, I have no idea who wins, but this year's team has done better, accomplished more than MSU has in these other recent years.

I think Michigan has a good chance to be very good again next year. Thank you. They'll need to develop their bench, obviously. Inserting their 1 valuable bench player in the starting line-up will pretty much make their bench at 0 if you look at it right now, so they better develop someone.

I never expect MSU to drop off too much, but there are years where they don't win the big10. I do hope it is MIchigan that improves. They didn't miss by much this year.

dude, You obviously haven't realized this. I don't respond to you. This is the only time I am doing this. I won't speak to you anymore, so quit obsessing over me and quit trying to be argumentative with me. I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in carrying on a conversation with you. Even when I prove you completely wrong, you just ignore it and act like it didn't happen. I'm done with you. Spend your time doing something else other than reading and responding to my posts.

Thanks

I get paid to have conversations with assholes all day. I don't get paid here, so I won't do it anymore. It's simple.

I agree, but by your words, you already knew that.

Offer is already out, so I think some attrition is expected. I have to assume Davis. He's not going to get any PT next year, so he may look to move to a smaller school.

I don't know if JB will ever MAKE someone leave. It doesn't seem like his style. I know that Davis and Mr. Dribbles (Brooks) absolutely love to play basketball for the University of Michigan. I mean, who wouldn't, right? but I doubt either one will play many meaningful minutes moving forward. I hope I'm wrong and one of them helps lead the way to a Big 10 title and a long run in the NCAA's next year.

1 or both of them might decide that they want to actually play basketball somewhere next season instead of watching from the bench and then singing the fight song in the locker room after the game. I am sure that both work very hard to improve in the weight room and in practice, but a player wants to play in games. I guess we'll see what happens.

I don't think JB would make anyone leave either. I just meant we might see someone like Davis or Brooks move on so they can play more. Writing is on the wall when it comes to their PT. We'll just have to see what happens.
