How Sinclair Broadcasting puts a partisan spin using "trusted" local news stations

This is true, the stick people aren't big fans of the late night so-called comedy anymore. It's nothing but constant trump bashing and we the stick people like trump

Trump intentionally puts it out there via controversial tweets nearly every single day, and no other previous president had tried to constantly be the center of attention. He supplies them with a shit load of material to use, especially when his tweets from the past directly contradict what he tweets and does as president.

Every president has been roundly panned by the media, critics, and comedians, but they were emotionally mature and secure enough not to immediately and publicly react like a butthurt temper-tantrum throwing two year old about it.

I've long said he should scale back the twitter BS, there wasn't a better option in 2016. Let's fight butthurt with butthurt that'll fix it

Well there you go.

Trump is already single handedly abiding by the spirit of The Fairness Doctrine himself, taking both sides on controversial issues.

Where's the problem?

See here's an example right here.

At a press conference wrapping up just now, Trump just said it was possible that he could have a great relationship with Putin, but it was also very possible that he won't.

Both sides.

How did the fairness doctrine work? How many people have to take a position opposing the majority before it's considered controversial? Does the increase in flat earthers mean broadcasters have to mention them now if they say anything about the world being round? How about white supremacists? Are there enough of them that we should broadcast their take?

Good point. He's one of the best at finding blame on both sides.

Aww...beat me to it.

Flat earthers and white supremacists really don't hold controversial opinions. The regulation was applied arbitrarily at the discretion of the FCC.

When Trump constantly bashes Cnn., nbc, and other media networks for using fake news but never once bashes FIXED News aka Fox news ever! How is that not a problem. Talk about a president who wants a puppet media. Well look he has Fix news and now Sinclair to indoctrinate the massss. I call bullshit to anyone who does not see this as a issue.

People who watch Fox News aren't being indoctrinated - they were already conservative.

There are a few liberals who watch Fox News because they love to hate it.

Again, Sinclair primarily reaches hayseeds who were already conservative anyway.

You don't see yourself as having your liberal viewpoints supported every time you read an article in Mother Jones?

The Huffington Post?

Partisans are going to acclimate to media that supports their viewpoints.

I call BS to anyone who does not see this as reality.

Pretty big difference from online and and a magazine to TV stations. My guess the difference is in millions . Again you skipped the question about trump . How convenient of you .

Oh, okay.

It's not a problem because it isn't a secret. Everybody knows Trump loves Fox News.

So what?

Liberals see that as an atrocity.

Conservatives see it as a good thing.

People in the middle see it as being the same as water being wet.

Also Trump hasn't been 100% cool with Fox News always.

He had that huge problem with that blonde chick while she was still at Fox, I forget her name - Meagan Kelly, that's it.

So there's an example of Trump talking trash about Fox News, or at least a Fox News reporter.

EDIT: Also, you may not remember, when Trump first announced his candidacy and it was news and he brought in eyeballs - CNN, ABC, NBC, all of them - couldn't trip over their own dicks fast enough to get him on the air.

It went sour, so what?

The major media is as responsible for making Trump the president as anybody.

Your example is Megan Kelly lmao !!!
If you can't see what Trump does as a issue I can't help you but whatever . The Gop has a network and a president and the supreme court , and the Congress . Hopefully it can change before to much damage is done in 2018. Any moderate will do to get this bozo out if office.

Let me ask you Bob - do you think you're being indoctrinated by Fox News or Sinclair Media?

Or any of your liberal friends?

Do you know anyone who says, "well, I used to be a liberal Democrat, but that Fox News, and that Sinclair Media, they really shown me the light...?"

Also, I have a news flash for you - Trump ain't a conservative.

He's as conservative as the last person that talked to.

When the last person he's talked to is his old pal Chuck Schumer, Trump is back to being the liberal New York Democrat that he always used to be.

Then the NRA gets him on the phone and the whole thing starts again.

Sinclair Media is not gonna change anybody's mind about anything, just like Fox News doesn't, or really, CNN or NBC or ABC or anybody else.

Trump is also a fan of infowars and I don't have any serious problems with that either, and that really pisses the CNN, MSNBC folks off to no end.

4 more years sounds ok, Trump/Stick deplorable people 2020!

The FOX News thing isn't really a different kind of issue. The thing with Sinclair is being called shady in part because Kushner said they made a deal back in the campaign days.

https://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/trump-campaign-sinclair-broadcasting-jared-kushner-232764

Kushner said the agreement with Sinclair, which owns television stations across the country in many swing states and often packages news for their affiliates to run, gave them more access to Trump and the campaign, according to six people who heard his remarks.

In exchange, Sinclair would broadcast their Trump interviews across the country without commentary, Kushner said.
HOWEVER, that deal is old news. So why are people looking at it right now? I waver between being a slight conspiracy nut and thinking it's just a cultural phenomenon. Hot topics get picked up and everybody talks about them. It's pretty transparent on the right when Trump directly gets the ball rolling, but the same thing happens on the left, it's just not clear where it starts. Several years back, a liberal media listserv was made public. Technically you could call it a kind of conspiracy, but similar people with similar interests talk. I'm sure similar things are still happening.

I saw a paper about how Twitter was used so differently by Black America way back in the olden days of 2010. Basically, African Americans used trending hashtags differently from white people; we're used to this kind of thing now, but at first, you'd see white people on twitter asking things like "what's all this #wordsthatleadtotrouble I keep seeing?" It didn't always come from the same people or even the same part of the country, but every few days, a short phrase would get super popular and different people would post their take or reaction with the associated hashtag. The researcher or writer was trying to discuss how certain ideas grew and dominated the landscape. It felt like a coordinated thing, but it wasn't.

I think left wing news might be like that. Sinclair still working with Trump would be an issue (if anyone can show that they are), and I don't like the power associated with one entity running what looks like thousands of local mom and pop voices of the community, but everybody getting interested in it right at this moment is just the hashtag of the week.

Fine you can say that . But again he never bashed Fox news, and that is what we are talking about here . But he always bashes the other media outlets. Info wars is nothing but cespool of crap.

thank you please keep it coming, it fuels me and please don't bother listening to any of it, you might find out you agree or something. dangerous.
