How the Mueller Investigation Could Play Out for Trump

I'm not sure which actions and which words you mean. You characterized him somewhat negatively but said it didn't mean he was unqualified for the office. You say he puts too much effort trying to battle people who he believes have a low opinion of him while I say he puts himself before country. We're talking about similar reads on his motivation (his over-prioritizing of self-interests), but we're making different conclusions regarding how bad it is.

I completely disagree that he puts himself before country in anything other than the words that spew out of his mouth.

The actions I speak of are his trying desperately to keep the economy improving - his support for veterans, and a number of other conservative actions which I don't expect others to believe the way I believe that it helps America more than him.

The other time I mentioned the law firm here was in a thread where I was talking about the appearance of OSU doing things better than other institutions. It was a positive take. Just a small world kind of thing. What are the odds I'd hear of this law firm for the first time ever and in such a short period of time, run into them again on a completely unrelated topic being discussed on this board.

ok, fair enough - you were emphasizing the OSU connection, while I keyed on the Republican connection, but only because I thought you were bringing that up specifically in response to the post you responded to. My mistake.

All the time spent at Mar a Lago is putting himself before country. Not releasing his tax forms. Not divesting to avoid conflicts of interest. The nepotism. Spending too much effort trying to battle people who he believes have a low opinion of him. Seeing the investigation of Russian meddling as an attack on him he should discredit rather than an investigation on an attack on America he should support. It's all about him before country.

Oh and believing Fox News isn?t Fake News and using them every day while calling other networks fake . When will he call out Fox News as fake ? Frustrating we have a president who lies more then all the other presidents combined.

News tonight is Cohen saying Trump knew that Russia was willing to give his campaign dirt on Clinton. Said he was there with others when Trump have the OK to go through with the meeting. Not looking good for Trump.

Lanny Davis said this wasn't leaked by Michael Cohen. I wonder if this is the same as when Don Jr leaked his bullshit to get ahead of it.

Unfortunately nothing seems to stick to the Liar in the White House, and his group of swamp critters .

what law is being broken here? is it illegal to get opposition research from a foreign entity? Why do we only care about what the winner did? Didn't the loser's campaign also source opposition research from non-US entities (Michael Steele and wasn't there also suspicion or known collusion with Ukranian officials?).

Don't get me wrong, I think we should aggressively go after the individual(s) or group(s) who illegally hacked the DNC and other sources. But what does knowing about the meeting do if he and others in his campaign didn't know what the information was or how it was obtained? this goes back to the early days of the "scandal" - to me this is mostly smoke and mirrors to distract attention from the content of the hacked information and it's implications by attacking the source and the means by which it was obtained.

All the time spent at Mar a Largo? Really, are you saying his constant involvement in everything he has stuck his nose into is not enough - you want more?

Not releasing his tax forms has nothing to do with putting himself before the country. This is really what you have as an example? What part of the country is suffering because of this? Just the lefty opinion makers, maybe.

Spending too much time battling people . . . How is this different than the spewed words that I mentioned in my post? The kinds of actions I mean are overall policy actions. You may not like and even hate the actions he takes, but it is only his words blowing his own horn that he uses to elevate himself. I think you misunderstood what I was saying about actions, and didn't even come close to responding to the actions that I did mention.

So, again his statements on meddling, are just that. Tell me what part of the country is still complacent about foreign meddling?

It is no more about himself than Bush, Clinton (especially Clinton), and even Obama at times. So spare me the hatred about the methods used to elevate himself. It is the policy actions that will determine how much President Trump put his country above himself, not his egotistical rants.

If this is true, then Trump Jr. committed perjury when he told the Senate his dad didn't know, didn't he?

I don?t know. How do you know he didn?t know at the time he said he didn?t know?

Maybe his dad knew but he didn?t know his dad knew, or maybe his dad really didn?t know.

How would he know for sure if his dad really new or really didn?t know?

At this point we really don?t know. Who knows? We may never really know.

We don't know. We have conflicting stories.

Cohen asserts that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed by his son about the Russians' offer and Trump gave his approval to go ahead with the meeting. Trump says this is a lie.

The Senate asked Trump Jr. if he told his father about the meeting.

"I never spoke to my father about it," he told the committee.

The absurdity of this whole thing is several fold in my book:

1) do you really believe that Michael Cohen and bumblefucks like Trump and his retarded sons pulled off a cloak-and-dagger move like getting dirt on the opposition from foreign agents without every intelligence agency in DC knowing about it?

2) Assuming they knew about this stuff, and it's against the law, why didn't they bust Trump et al on the spot?

3) We interfere in other nations' elections all the time, and they interfere in ours. why is this so different?

Americans aren't allowed to assist other nations interfering in our business. I think so far, Manafort looks like the persons that's closest to being in trouble for that. I'd have to google it.

he said other people said, who cares the tower meeting item is absurd and besides did anything result from it, didn't they all basically go pffst get the F outta here.. was it illegal hell f'n no.. if this is what we are down now wtf is it still ongoing for. good lord. he may have paid other women to wow shocking, who cares! breaking news trump liked women a lot. shocking revelation if only everyone that voted for him had already known that before hand. LOL I yi yi

Recent polls show nobody really cares cept the CNN/MSNBC left crowd. Most American don't always care for what he says and how he acts but love his results! Carry on Mr Trump! Carry on Sir.

It would be one thing if Cohen said he was the only witness, but he's saying there were several others. So there should be people supporting or refuting his account at some point.

So we are hanging the Mueller probe on catching Jr. in a lie under oath about a meeting in which no real laws have been broken? Collusion by itself is not against the law, no matter how much people would like it to be.

Figuring that catching Jr. might get daddy under oath??? I guess they don't call it a perjury trap for nothing.

Who knows, maybe it might work. Trump's lie on Air Force One was not under oath. Trump gets caught in his lies way more than most politicians, I'll grant you that a thousand times. Just need to read Bob's 200-300 posts on the subject to suspect that, but proving the President actually perjured himself might get a bit dicey.

There was a report that Mueller is examining Trump's tweets - I suspect it was to see if there is anyone else they can browbeat into a perjury trap, then turn them against the president. That is how it works. Maybe there is a way they can recommend that Congress indict/impeach him on an Obstruction of Justice charge for his tweets - but that isn't even an indictment yet, and by itself is not proof of anything.

We may be into his second term before we get him, but, by God, we will impeach this man. Then he will very likely finish out his 2nd term. I imagine it will go to the SCOTUS multiple times before they ever get the President under oath. Hey maybe he will perjure himself ? la Clinton, and then it goes to the Republican controlled Senate to what - remove him? Now were back to dreaming that the investigation isn't tainted enough for 66 Senator's to vote to remove him.

So let me ask you, is there anyone that voted for Trump knowing pretty much the same stuff they knew when he was elected the first time that is changing their vote over this so-called investigation? I'm thinkin' no.

Is there any chance the Democrats will control the Senate after the mid-terms? Probably not unless something far beyond the usual hair-on-fire scandals that have come to light already. Maybe that is why MM and many highly partisan hacks get completely hysterical over any misstep - keep hope alive that one of these "scandals" will catch on and get people to change their vote.

I didn't vote in the last election. I copped out, couldn't bring myself to vote for that other idiot that was running, but I may not cop out this time.

Simple question to ask yourself. There is a sizable majority of folks that vote on this one simple question. Am I personally better off now than I was before he was elected? Many uneducated deplorables may have a different answer than y'all liberals.

I wouldn't. I'd still run with the same speculation from a couple pages back: #1 Russian interference, #2 Financial crimes, #3 obstruction of justice, #4 (if it's even on the plate) collusion.
