It's surely been disappointing so far. I had the Lions 10-6 and at this point I'm only one game off from where I thought the would be through the first 6 games. I didnt have them winning in Philly, but I did have them beating Minny & Tenn.

Lets face it, special teams cost us 2 games. The offense has been less then stellar.
Looking ahead, Seattle obviously is a must win and I think they will win easily.

J'Ville sucks and I still believe Minny is a fraud. Minny will be the key game. A win would put the Lions(IMO) at 5-4 heading into the GB game(home). We will have 5 home games remaining after Minny(albeit against good teams). The 2 remaining road games are in GB & AZ.

The Lions need to defend the home turf, they can only afford 1 more loss, possibly 2 with one being a AFC team like Houston, the other possibly GB(although they dont scare me). I still believe their best football has yet to be played.
I predicted 4 road wins and 6 home wins and its still doable.

At this point SF, NYG, Chi and Atl appear to be the favorites to win their respective divisions.
If it goes as planned, we would hold head to head tiebreakers over Sea, Az, StL and Philly for a possible WC team. We would also sport a 8-4 conference record

just my 2 cents, keep the faith

Seattle seams to have a tough defense. Fortunately there offense blows. I'm thinking someone wins 10-7.

Good news: SEA offense blows so we shouldnt get blown out
Bad news: i thought the same thing about TEN
Worse news: Our offense sucks donkey balls

While I share in your hope, we most likely need to get to 10-6 to have a shot at the playoffs...which means we need to go 8-2 the rest of the way. I just don't see us having only 2 losses in the next 10 games. 8-2 is hard enough to do if you are a dominant team...and we have to play GB twice as well as Houston and Atlanta. I can't see it happening for us this year.

Maybe if we were in the AFC.. No playoffs in the loaded NFC. I think we play well the rest of the season with our offense waking up but too little too late IMO.

Loaded? We're one loss behind a WC spot.

I guess you're right. We're not as in bad of shape as I thought. Can't afford to lose any divisional games though. Gotta go 3-1 in our remaining 4 to have a shot.

lol..i just looked at the playoff picture myself...currently we are fighting

minnesota, tampa bay, philadelphia, seattle, arizona..dallas...washington..for the other wild card spot...we will own head to head against seattle and philly now..but we are definitely not out of it.

lose 1 or 2 more games you shoudlnt and i dont like our odds in must have games against ATL GB CHI HOU toward the end of the year. Those early loses against the likes of TEN couold very easily come back to haunt us. The worst thing that could happen imo is we make a late push and come up just short at say 8-8....dont make the playoffs and end up with like a pick at #20.

All overrated.

I've got turkey day and Atlanta down as sure loses the rest are winnable if the offense is firing on all cylinders. Probably unrealistic "big if"... but in theory...

Feeling a tad bit better about things since it looks like Young and Broyles are ready to step up and be legit threats...hopefully it will lead to Megatron getting one on one coverage occasionally...

Also I had Tennessee as a sure win and Philly as a sure loss and it wound up being the opposite...so I'm thinking they can probably steal one of these harder matchups yet. HOPEFULLY on Thanksgiving...so tired of losing on Thanksgiving...

There are no sure losses for Detroit but there are no sure wins either even Indy and at Jax. They can beat Houston or Atlanta.

Everyone in the North has a tough last 7 or 8. Lions getting to 4-4 beating Jax sets them up to be right in the thick of things starting with at Minnesota being a huge game. They could seriously be in the drivers seat as the 6th seed(with tie breakers over Seattle and Philly) if they beat Jax and Minnesota and Vikings lose at Seattle this Sunday.

Green Bay has 3 away division matchups and at New York Giants. Plus Detroit and Minnesota at home won't be a picnic for them.

Minnesota plays Chicago twice, at Houston, Green Bay twice too and the big game against Detroit. Heck even at St Louis could be tough for them with how they have played recently.

Special teams doesn't screw Detroit they are 5-2 but instead they are going to have to work for a wildcard like every other team.

For some reason I just have a feeling that an 8-8 team is going to win the Super Bowl this year. Don't ask me why...
