I thought Republicans...

I think "hated" is too strong of a word. Granted, it was no Point Break but then Jeff Daniels is no Patrick Swayze.

Point Break is a very underrated move. "Utah! Get me two!"

I don't remember the "abort the baby line" from Speed, which is unusual (that I wouldn't remember a line like that. Obviously it would have been metaphoric).

My wife and I liked Speed, but Point Break is her favorite movie.

Ann Arborites love Jeff Daniels though (Chelsea MI is close enough to count as part of home).

Neither my wife nor I have ever been, nor would be or will be involved in a choice for an abortion.

Yeah. Daniels>Swayze

Daniels>most

Ummmm...on an Ann Arborite scale yes.

Take favorite son out of the equation and...not so sure. The wife says Swayze (although she like Jeff Daniels).

BUT - Jeff Daniels isn't dead.

EDIT: hey, for you dudes who love Point Break there is this awesome and under the radar movie, Prey for Rock and Roll movie starring Gina Gershon, with Lori Petty and Drea DeMatino that I would recommend.

Daniels has more award nominations and did win an Emmy, but most of that does come after Swayze died, so maybe it's not fair to include it.

In that case, you know what I think tips the scales? Dumb and Dumber. Swayze didn't have that kind of range.

You had me at Gina Gershon.

i didnt really know who she was... but we watched a more obscure indie movie a while back and she had a big role; i looked her up after that in imdb.

i can't find the title now... wtf? it was set in a bar... that's all i remember.

Jeff Daniels is awesome. He's primarily a supporting actor though.

Patrick Swayze was the male lead and more iconic and Oscar winning films.

Ironically, one of the most iconic films, Road House, was the opposite of Oscar-winning.

That's another one of the favorites of both my wife and mine.

Roadhouse is epic. "Is she?"

Roadhouse. Boom! drops mic, walks off stage.

edit: dang it, I didn't see Roadhouse has already been brought up - i was too busy explaining Bo to uofm fans over on the other board.

Is Point Break her favorite movie or her favorite Patrick Swayze movie?

THAT line I remember. Comes early in this montage.

"Pain don't hurt" that could be the movie line I've quoted more than any other. I use it on my 6 year old all the time. How that's not number 1 on the list is beyond me.

Point break is number one and roadhouse is number two. The chick flick under the Tuscan Sun is number three so she does like chick flicks too. She also likes Keanu and Laurie Petty and Gary Busey in Point break as much as she likes Patrick Swayze. It's just a really really good movie.

You had me at Diane Lane - although Under the Tuscan Sun was a horrible movie. If I recall, that was the movie where my girlfriend figured out I had a thing for Diane Lane - it was probably the 3rd or 4th Diane Lane movie I picked. Knight Moves was probably the best. It took about the same number of bad Heather Graham movies for my wife to figure out that crush. Killing Me Softly being by far her best horrible movie.

Yeah, pretty slow moving for me; total chick flick. I started multi-tasking and I don't remember how it ended.

Diane Lane is a classic beauty though.

less than 5% of the women in the study were murdered so you're working with a very small, unreliable sample size. As for accidents, it's also a smaller sample size AND the differential is less than half that for suicide. Do you not see the difference here? It's significant. What common sense tells you is that when women say their abortions were the reason they thought of killing themselves, that's not subjective. As for the legal definition of murder, it only doesn't fit because of a wrong-headed supreme court decision - otherwise it's the most egregious form of murder that exists. And you're not pro life, you're clearly pro abortion. Calling yourself pro life is like Nancy Pelosi saying she is Catholic.
The amount of people who kill themselves is also a small sample. They dont quantify how many people say that abortion was the main reason they had those thoughts, never mind if it was the only reason or nir.

Im not pro abortion personally, I just don't come up with my own definition of when life begins and then try to impose it on others.

27% of the study, 5x the number of homicide victims is a small sample.got it.
