If we win the world series this year

If looking back on this season is a disappointment, then I don't think baseball is the game for you to watch. Every team has flaws. Yes, it is frustrating at times, but that is just how a game will be when there is 1 team that wins over 60% of their games (.605 by the Nats). I think the flaws in teams are partially what makes the game so special.

Yankee fans aren't focusing on the fact that our bullpen is shaky, but they are saying, "What the hell, we have to face JV and Max now? We just faced two solid pitchers that shut us down. I wish we had SP like the Tigers."

I agree with this. Going into the year I thought that the Tigers would win the division....they did. Prior to the season I thought they would have some success in the post season depending on what trades they made. Well, they won the first round and are up 2-0 in the second round. Prior to the season I felt they would have a chance to get to the WS and right now they are 2 wins away. I had some hope for the WS.....when I was in Vegas I put some $ down on the Tigers to win the WS.....I wouldn't have done it but they were 9:1 so I said WTF. I don't understand how anybody could be disapointed with this season.

I agree that no one should be disappointed. But I do understand the feeling that it has been really tough to well up with pride in this team because of the constant scares/theatrics that pop up at almost every corner and the lack of ability to hit. I can't say enough how proud I am of our starting pitchers though and if we are able to win it all I am sure the pride and excitement will all be there.

And crappy teams win more than crappy teams win in other sports. There wasn't a team in the AL that played lower than .400 ball; over in the NL there were three; so adding the NATS, 87% of teams were within the 2 wins out of every 5 and 3 wins out of every 5 range.

You don't see that kind of day to day parity in other sports.

Or not the 4 major US sports anyway; I don't know about soccer or cricket and like that.

Be very wary if our Tigers make the world series and have to face the cardinals again.

I want the Cardinals in the World Series for redemption. Another World Series loss won't kill me but it would hurt.

Well I would like that too, redemption and to even the World Series record with them at 2 each.
They are playing lights out hitting and pitching, starters and bullpen,
Lose pujols and berkman and they are just as good if not better.

Carlos Beltran has been absolutely amazing...and then getting back carpenter is a real plus.

They have strong starting pitching and as we're seeing is the biggest key for a team to be succesful in the playoffs.

Cardinals or Giants, both would be a tough opponent. I'm not sure who I would choose honestly. Up and down season, but hey I can't complain second year in a row they have made the playoffs.

The pitching has been really great.

We match up better against the Cards.

Our advantage so far has been starting pitching, we have better SP's then St. Louis, but probably lose that big advantage against SF.

I'd rather play the Cards, but both worry me.

I don't care. Anyone can beat anyone so whether it's the Card, SF or if it was the Nats or Reds. But we're not there yes, momentum shifts big time if they get a win in Tuesday.
