Iowa Game

Clark has been a disappointment.

Does anyone know the story behind the Forbes rubbing of shoes and kissing his fingers like 20 times a game?
Somebody built like clark has no business spending so much time on the perimeter.

Also, how can someone with as much athletic ability as harris get beaten off the dribble so often? His footwork is so poor, not sure if anyone even taught him how to play defense

Harris is an AAU player, meaning he just shoots and plays no defense. I think he had a bad game, but some of the other people on here are too harsh on him. He's a vital piece to this team.

I'd say that was the worst effort I've seen since we went at Iowa in 2011 when they were awful and we got waxed by like 30. I turned this game off at half and watched the last 10 minutes of the 2nd half. The defense was absolutely atrocious and we flat out got outhustled and out worked.

I wish my cable went out at 7

Sometimes I think Izzo is hard headed when it comes to defense. Iowa was obviously shooting the lights out from the 3, so why not extend the defense past the 3 to make it more difficult to shoot? It's so frustrating seeing Tum or the other guards so far off their man when they have the ball outside of the 3 point line. That uthoff 30 footer comes to mind, we just completely left him open, and although he probably doesn't make that shot more than 30% of the time when wide open, when someone is feeling it you have to be in their face.

I don't know, sometimes the other team just makes shots. Some of the 3's were very well covered but some were open. I think what really killed us was the charge on forbes, took 2 maybe 3 points off when it was close but the he sat all but 3 minutes the rest of the way. That was his 2nd and put him on the bench. We had to play tum, bess, and wollenman for a long stretch and it went from 10 to 22.

Buried on the bench behind better players. He's going with schilling at the 4 a lot more. The point is that izzo doesn't play someone who isn't giving 100% effort. In this game I don't know if he could find 5 guys to play hard.

Also, valentine looked really slow, like an old man in a rec league. I assume it's more fatigue than being unsure of his knee

I can see trying to get your groove back after missing several weeks but DV looks like a completely different player after the injury.

I'd guess that it's rust and fatigue as opposed to his knee limiting what he can do.
