Is There Anyone on These Boards Who Has Never Smoked Weed?

I smoked a little in college (and with my brother during those years), but it was pretty infrequent...maybe once every few weeks. I never saw the appeal of it.

I guess we'll see how the stereotypes hold up in Colorado. I'm on the fence about the whole "low motivation" thing because there's probably a bias in selection and with regard to the idea that alcohol makes people violent, I think that also might be impacted in how people drink. Would it be different if pot was smoked often by lots of strangers in late night gatherings? They could serve kool aid at some clubs and sports bars and I bet there'd still be fights. Maybe we'll get some real studies now that it's legal. I wonder if all the proposals from U of Colorado's psych department are weed related right now.

Actually, why wouldn't these studies have already been conducted overseas? I guess I've never looked for them.

Yes, and I still do.

What's good is now weed is potent to the point where you don't need to smoke that much to get you a nice, relaxed buzz. Half a joint or 5-6 hits from a pipe/bong and i'm set for awhile.

Smoked in high school, not in college except for one or two ocasions. ANd one occasion was a Mitch McGary situation, I had not smoked one puff in like 5 years, I just got finished with exams and was out drinking, ended up back at a house with some girls and this dude packed a bowl of the best looking nuggets I had ever seen. I was pretty buzzed and said, why not, so I took a hit. No sooner had I exhaled than it dawned on me that I had a drug test the very next day. WTF? I had not smoked in 5 years and then when I do it's the night before the only drug test I had to take in my life up to that point in time for a new job.

I'm sure Mitch just wasn't thinking.

I went to the local Head shop and paid $50 for a cleanser and passed my test no problem. Still, things can happen, but then again, I also was not a scholarship athlete who had so much to lose as Mitch did.

I think there is a difference between people who like to smoke weed from time to time, as they might drink, and those who are part of the marijuana culture and "movement."

The latter is annoying and disingenuous while the former just wants to be able to do something akin to drinking, but less dangerous ...not to even mention pharma and all the addicts created by our wonderful health care culture.

I *cough* abstained from recreational use of marijuana in my younger years. My official statement.

Weed should be legalized in my opinion.. Alcohol cause way more death and destruction then weed does... That said I did some in HS and college but it made me to sleepy and paranoid.. Now I did some other drugs and had no problem not getting hooked on them... But back to weed I did try some brownies recently for my bad back.. Like 3-4 years ago. My sister gave me a brownie and I asked her how much I should eat and she said the whole thing cause she eats a half a one now to get a buzz.. I drove to the store on the way home eating it and by the time I got home on the couch was bombed told my wife and she made fun of me the whole night... Last time...I just can't handle drugs of any kind I just get to buzzed to easy... I don't drink much anymore either....1 to 3 beers and I am sloshed...Depending on what I eat...

I smoked a decent amount in college, never bought it for myself but would partake with friends. i think i've smoked weed maybe 4-5 times in the last 15 years, not for the last 5 or so.

for someone who's pretty much a non smoker i'm as pro pot as they come.

Once???? Come on man, give it an honest chance!!

Well, I had super happy fun time with my friend's girlfriend the first time. First time I'd ever done something so out of character. Sure, i'd been drunk and car surfed, but it wouldn't have taken vodka to get me to do that.

Contact buzz which gave me an extremely bad migraine is as close as I ever got. Now when I smell it I get like an allergic reaction and it makes me very unpleasant. The new NYC DA announced his office will not prosecute people smoking it in public, which means I'm in for worlds of hurt most likely. Something most pro-totes do not apparently realize is how their second hand smoke can be a problem for some. Do what you want at home, but please keep ur smoke to urself...not that cig smokers are any better.

EVERYONE I knew in HS and as a college student smoked pot. I never did until I was in my 40s. Pot, alcohol, or other drugs never appealed to me. I don't have any problem with people who use them per se. I believe that the abuse of these things are a symptom of deeper problems that the substance abuse only makes worse. They should all be "legal" in the sense that use in your own home should not be penalized, but the consequences for public behavior under the influence (driving high or drunk, etc.) should be harsh. As far as pot being less dangerous than cigarettes, lets see 20-30 years from now (maybe less) when chronic users come down with emphysema or lung cancer and they file law suits against the pot companies.

Nope. Not once. I wasn't a good enough athlete to get caught smoking weed and then just shrug my shoulders and declare for a professional draft.

Edit: Dammit, I guess I "technically" could have declared for a professional draft. And it won't be long until it's legal anyways. If only the pot crowd had a lobby in DC like the tobacco people, it'd have been legalized decades ago.
