Jack-Face Morelli Explains

Ansah and Suh were mugged all day. I know you can't call holding all the time but it was so blatant.

Nothing mentioned on the TD pass by Romo.... Penalties on both sides of the line on that play..

Obvious pi. Obvious hold on their last touchdown

Of course it was obvious, to you.

"we lost today so lets blame the refs.." - Lol fan.

Don't blame the bad punt, or the stagnant offense after quarter 1..or the defense who gave it away.

All of these things are points...but I don't remember when I've ever seen a defensive pass interference call, that looked like it was the right call as much as that did, reversed.

I've seen plays that looked result in no calls, sure...

But I don't remember seeing a call on a play that looked like that reversed.

I'm just saying.

Same marked off and announced then reversed, in a league where everything is DPI or Dholding or Illegal contact, this one is the one they reverse.

I'm not saying this. It was a horse shit call but its pretty weak to think this is the reason why we lost.

How the fuck does the linesmen have a better look at that than the back judge? Fuck off.

If the PI call stands maybe the next play is a Lions TD.

Or maybe it's a pick six.

Yes, nobody knows what would happen in the parallel universe where the call isn't overturned.

The non-call is meaningless to me at this point. Time to move on and look towards the draft and next season. The Lions have their fair share of problems, many that contributed to the loss yesterday. Focus on fixing those rather than whining about a bad call.

I know this post is pointless because the organization is probably looking forward already.... But I just know the fans are going to dwell on this shit for too long.

It was more about the bad punt, shitty offense and the defense not coming through when it mattered but whatever..

The Lions did not respond like winners in the face of that bad break; I don't think anybody would disagree.

I was baffled as to why they didn't go for it on the next play.

But they didn't and we'll never know what would have happened.

Caldwell mentioned some BS about debating it, but since they had a lead he decided to punt.

It pretty much falls in line with the general attitude of the coaching staff yesterday of trying not to lose.

I look at it this way, the Lions had a chance to win on the final drive of the game and they failed.

Had they succeeded, there's probably much less talk about the non-call.

You can argue about momentum or potential outcomes of that drive, but the non-call did not prevent them from winning.

6 points in 3 quarters is unforgivable, especially against an unimpressive Dallas D.

If the DPI call had stood, you know how much talk there would have been about it after the game? Zero, no one would have mentioned it, it was an obvious pass interference call. No Cowboy fan would have been whining that is was a bad call whatsoever.

Just sickening!

LOL yes they would. I talked to some last night who were complaining about how bullshit the roughing the kicker penalty was that got us the second TD. They made the same claim about the refs, only that the NFL wanted Detroit to win because it would be a better story for a historically bad franchise to have a shot at the SB.

They also mentioned one of our kick return coverage guys hit the Dallas player receiving the fair catch. They wanted a 15-yard penalty for that, but got no call.

Seriously, Tinfoil Hats were out in force last night in two cities.

I was thinking the same about the fair catch. It looked like one of our guys hit him and I was looking for a flag..

The officiating just sucked yesterday, both sides probably have legitimate claims to getting screwed at one point or another. Just embarrassing as a fan of the NFL... It's beyond ridiculous that this shit pops up EVERY season, especially in this age of technology.

Who knows, maybe officiating has always been this bad and today's technology puts a spotlight on it.

Roborefs please

On second thought, maybe roborefs aren't a good idea... Games would take 12 hours because holding would be called on 90% of the plays.

With a robot though you can program in Holding<10%. PI=90%.

ya....why debate a call to potentially go up 2 scores late in a game. Caldwell is a fucking moron. fire him. fucking fire any dumbass that says anything close to what he said lol.....that's the dumbest shit I ever heard.

No kidding. Lots of reasons why you might not go for it but that was just a bad reason not to.

You have a top defense and a poor offensive line and its still a debate weather he should have gone for it....LOL... That decision can go either way and its right... No one excepted a 10 yard punt... Which btw never should have happened anyway....If Martin pins then inside the 10 no one is complaining about this.... For Cowheard to go on and on about how we should have gone for it means he has no clue how bad our line is this year...

Now I am all for going for it and play faking it and throwing deep to Calvin but I have no problem with the punt
either..
