Jack-Face Morelli Explains

Here are the direct quotes

"Thought about (going for) it, and obviously, when you look at the result of the punt, you look at it a little bit differently, but that's the benefit of the result," Caldwell said. "But we thought about it in that situation. But we were up; we weren't behind. If we were behind, a little bit different, depending on what kind of time was left on the clock."

im not talking about going for it or not. I have no problem with punting. im talking about him admitting he decided not to argue the call lol....way to stick up for your guys douchebag.

One moment where I wish we still had Schwartz, if only for the entertainment value... You know he would've gone off on those refs.

the one thing I will say. Linehan went for it on back 2 back 4th downs....converted both easily. Our dbag doesn't think twice about it on 4th n 1 to nail a coffin in the game. Losers mentality vs winners mentality.

well Caldwells pissed today anyway and at least Dungy said Dez should have been flagged...

not sure if this will post

Interesting but I'm not sure that mask hold could prevent him tuning the head. But face guarding is legal..it was before that. The refs screwed it 10 ways from Sunday.

Dez coming on the field :/ Nice work refs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Caldwell mentioned some BS about debating it, but since they had a lead he decided to punt.

It pretty much falls in line with the general attitude of the coaching staff yesterday of trying not to lose.

Yup good point and we still don't have a coach that plays to win over playing not to lose I'm thinking the franchise will never get it. Lion fans across the land have had thier hearts ripped out for 58 years at which to many of us is our entire lives yet they continue to hire coaches that act like we have something to lose

I agree with ya on this one for sure. Where the fk was Caldwell on this? I don't recall seeing him.....at all! Granted, i was jumping around my house like an escaped lunatic scaring my wife and kids lol but i don't recall ever seeing him talking to the refs. I'm sure he did though....right? Right? Anyways, it's not his style and you can't dwell on it i guess. He's a bigger man than me because if i was the HC, i would be calling out everyone that i think was involved in this. I would probably be jobless or even sitting in a jail cell Monday morning, but at that point....who cares? I LOVE football and it's my life after my family. Family then football and it actually saddens me and makes me sick to my stomach that i think there's s conspiracy behind this. This is the game i love, i grew up on this fkn game and to have to witness complete utter incompitence pains me. Because this doesn't fall under the "refs just missed that one" bullshit. There's something bigger here and it fkn stinks to high heaven. Too many people...important people are thinking the same thing about that game. That counts for something. I sincerely hope theres some type of investigation, but i highly doubt it. Jerry Jones is a fkn snake with deep pockets but this will be talked about for years and something will probably come out 10-20 years from now........

I agree with you Tony...
Some on here don't understand how much it hurts losing that stupid game Sunday...So many Lion frustrating years could have been somewhat alleviated with a Lion Playoff win.( only somewhat because Detroit Fans deserve a SB win).
My late father started me watching Football in 1969-70...70 being the first year I remember the most Michigan and the Lions..... It bums me more with each passing hour on what happened Sunday... Some want me to let it go because I may have a heart attack but I don't care this is my fathers team... He love the Lions.. He talked about the 50's Lions..
Fuck I am more pissed today then Sunday... Lions should be getting ready for Seattle..
sorry I am rambling too LOL...

Bob, it's not that it hurts more for some than others..it's like some, myself for one, handle it a different way. Years and years ago, the Lions lose and I'd be grumpy for a week.I decided it's not worth getting upset and bringing the hurt to other parts of my life. So I learn to move on pretty quickly from a game like this. I started watching in 1971 so It's been a long time for me too..I just rather focus on something else.

Lions were 3 games from a super bowl... Those game do not come around for the Lions fans very often.. To just let it go with what you are saying is just not right....Plus I keep it all inside or on here.... I just can't sit and take it when we were ripped from a chance at moving one step closer to a SB shot.... If the team was beaten fair and square then so be it.
I see yesterday differently

gotta keep the faith that they're building something special and that the playoffs will be a regular occurrence in the coming years. losing this year sucked big time, but it's not the end of the world. we will be back, and primed for an even longer run.

See, I'm happy today. You're not. Would would I want to make myself not happy? But 3 games from a SB, we were 3 games from a SB 3 years ago. I don't see that point it's not like we made it the NFC Championship game..

Good luck in your misery ..
