Jan 1 Bowl Games

Brilliant, but I beat you to this back in post #501, when Holly Rowe was shoving a microphone in Urban's face...

Yeah, but how can they have him at the desk with all these ESPN guys and not at least ask him. Damn ESPN and their biased commentators!

Oh no, they don't usually say stuff TO me, just on their own pages and it shows up on my feed.

:)

Oh, they don't actually razz you?

Well, it's their night to crow...

It's a long, long rivalry that goes back generations...even over a century...and there have been ups and down and pendulum swings...

Michigan will be back in the Sun soon...and a good Ohio State is good for Michigan, even when Michigan isn't very good at a certain particular point in time...

ESPN boards are lighting up with SEC haters. Conveniently there are no SEC fans to be found.

I am now watching My Bloody Valentine 1981 and really enjoying myself.

Yes, I stand corrected.

Holly Rowe can be excused for failing to ask the obviously most poignant post game question (for one thing, she's a sideline reporter, and for another thing, she's a chick), but there is utterly no excuse for the ESPN college football brain trust failing to ask Meyer "let's talk about the Harbaugh hire at Michigan" in the immediate wake of his team having won itself into the national championship game.

There once was a day when journalistic integrity actually meant something.

That one woman asked Jameis last year after the ACC champ game about the rape charges so I mean Harbaugh was fair game. Haven't seen her since though lol.

I hate OSU as well but at least a lot of people's perceptions were changes by Wisconsin, MSU, and OSU and the SEC was knocked down a bit.

Maybe it's me: I don't "hate" OSU or MSU. I just am just loyal to Michigan. It is mildly gratifying, however, to see the B1G win big on 1-1-15. Apologists will say "SEC was a little down" this season, rather than say the B1G has improved. The MSU win over Baylor (yes, I did watch) was surreal.

I think the SEC was a little down this year. That was the talk at mid-season at least when it comes to the number of NFL prospects up and down the rosters of the teams, mostly because quite a few teams had lost players early to the draft (LSU foremost among them). The pollsters refused to believe it though. There had to be some explanation for a team like Mississippi State coming up from out of nowhere.

This was also a good Alabama team, but not one of Saban's best teams there.

The SEC will be back and was still a deep conference this year. It just didn't have the strength at the top that they've had for most of the past decade.

Things overall definitely seem to be looking up for the Big Ten for a change though.

I think Harbaugh will be a tipping point for the other conference heavyweights.

The sec may have been down but their espn fueled hype machine was at full steam this year. They were talking about 3 SEC west teams making the playoffs, 3 made new years 6 bowls and lost.

The bright spot for us Sparties is that our two losses were to the national finalist and we were in both games. We beat #5 as well so we aren't that far from being able to win a national title. Hard to believe I'm saying that but it's true

They were in both games at some points but in the 4th quarter of both games the games were well over. That said...MSU had a good season including a good come back bowl victory vs Baylor.

Hardly. We were down just 12 pts with over 14 minutes left in Eugene and were driving deep in their territory w/ 8 minutes left when Olomu made an amazing play to intercept a pass on the Oregon 4 yard line. The game wasn't over by any means until they then scored on a 6 minute drive and went up 19 w/ less than 2 minutes to play.

her name is Heather Cox and she was at the Rose Bowl but FSU lost so she didn't get to ask him anymore questions about his rape case because she had to interview Mariota.

MSU had the lead with 1:30 left in the 3rd on the road @oregon, they were down 5 to start the 4th and had plenty of chances. Oregon went for it on 4th down late to tack on a meaningless score, I'd Harley sat we were out of it.

right...but they were down by double digits for all but 40 seconds of the 4th quarter.

This brand of rationale applied by M fans about a similar loss would be considered spin.

Well we were just down 20 to start the 4th against #5 baylor to start the 4th (in what was essentially a home game for them)

Were we out of that one?
