I'd be perfectly fine with naming all-stars and not having an all-star game. Treat it like every other award they hand out.
Yes. Agreed.

These are the best hitters in the game. You have to give the NL pitchers the credit.
This thread has gone on wayyyy too long. Who gives a fuck about his AS game debacle? Time to move on.
Shame on me for me even adding to the thread.
Obviously the people still posting here give a fuck about the AS game debacle.
I get it if you don't, but why complain that other do, just skip the thread, seems pretty simple.

The NBA isn't any better. The defense is usually crap with all the passes behind the backs and weird dunks because they want to entertain. MLB isn't any different.
I was referring to the freshman-sophomore game, the actual NBA all-star game is a joke.
I've thought about this the past few days and I agree for the most part.
Give the top players their due on paper without playing a game.
However I would like an all-star break that involves something like what the NBA does with the freshman-sophomore game so we can see the up and coming stars in the league. I wish they'd do this in all of the major sports, not just the NBA.
Give the all-stars their honors, keep the festivities, and the give the young stars the spotlight.
All-star games have gotten stale in general because some (probably most) of the players just don't give the same effort they would in an actual game.
That stupid celebrity softball game probably got more viewers than the future's game

Agree 100%. I could honestly care less if JV went out there and threw batting practice, so long as he didn't get injured. The All Star game is a joke of an event and I'd prefer our guys didn't even play in it for fear they might get hurt.
No it isn't. Its an AS game that means nothing. Who gives a shit. And JV even said, he just wanted to have fun knowing he probably wasn't going to pitch well.
