kiper mock v1.0

Its weird....sometimes it seems like you have football knowledge....yet other times its like your 12 year old homer brother gets on the computer and just says something plain dumb. Like "the lions are better than the patriots" lol

Jenkins and Robinson are garbage. What I said about them and the Vikings was the truth. They could get better, just like Bentley. Hayward could regress too.

Lions have drafted better than the Pats recently. Pats are well more established though because they didn't deal with a Millen rebuild at the height of the old CBA.

please stop comparing the Lions to the Pats, regardless of whether they appear to have drafted better on paper, the Lions are not a TEAM and the Pats are. this is something you are apparently failing to grasp. you can have a team of All-Pros not make the playoffs if they fail to play as a team. right now the Lions are a bunch of individuals.

being a team requires having leaders and coaches who make it about the team above all else. Pats know how to pick up the slack for each other when one of their guys makes a mistake. they know how to work together and keep their mindset positive. Lions make mistakes and they resort to being more and more individualized.

Brady is better than Stafford as he should be with way more experience and the Pats play in the AFC East making it easy to make the playoffs every eyar. I'm not impressed with their team overall.

pats were winning super bowls when brady had same experience as stafford currently because they are a TEAM

They were a very good team back then. Since then I'm not as impressed. I'd like to see how they would do in the AFC North, NFC North, NFC East.

Spotting them 5-1 or 6-0 every season in a terrible division makes it easy. Lions don't get that luxury. Lions with the roster they have now in a division with Jets, Bills and Dolphins, I'd like my chances for 3-4 division wins every year at least. And dont 'bring up 2010 1-3 finish against the East with Stafford hurt and a greatly different roster.

Lions must figure out how to win in a tough division. They play everyone tight but just need to get over the hump for 3 wins at least like 2011. Bears have some changes coming, Vikings are mainly Peterson(he can come back to Earth) and the Pack we need to beat at Ford Field. Up 20-14 with 2 minutes left, shows me have a good shot.

Jenkins is a terrible tackler against the run and gambles for picks. Much more to prove.

Robinson sucked. Winfield and Smith saved that secondary.

Bentley is better than Robinson. Jonte Green and Lacey are both better than Robinson.

LMFAO Hayward. Good job captain hindsight picked the one guy who did well. I'd like to see Hayward try to cover without consistent DE pressure.

Pretty hard to say Bentley is better than anyone, given that he played only a handful of downs last year. Bentley could improve from what? Hes done absolutely nothing.

He was ranked higher than both Robinson and Jenkins. Bentley was playing with a bum shoulder since the 3rd preseason game. To say the Lions didn't address the secondary because they didn't pick the guy you had on your board, doesn't mean they didn't do anything. We'll see how it plays out with Bentley, Robinson, Jenkins and Hayward in the future over the next severla years. So far advantage Hayward in a completely different situation than what Bentley, Robinson and Jenkins were in. And the Packers traded up to get him. Some people don't like to see the Lions trade up for picks.

we wouldnt have had to trade up to get him. And if we truly are moving to bigger CBs than bentley will never be anything more than a dime or nickel.

They drafted him with the idea of him being a nickel.

ya we know that...but you have to understand youre arguing with people that think the lions addressed the secondary by selecting bentley, green and greenwood lol. bentley should never be a starter.....yet were arguing with a guy that think he might end up being better than hayward.

Hayward is a slot CB too. Shields plays on the outside and Tramon is the other outside guy.

Jenkins and Robinson fix nothing on this team.

They need a stud DE, we have top 5 pick. There are CBs and safeties in this draft in Round 2. We'll have Broyles for the future and a Round 2 secondary player possibly this draft so you'll be happy.

And we might know more if Bentley, Lacey, Greenwood, Green could have addressed the secondary if the DES actually played well to get proper pressure and Delmas/Bentley/Greenwood/Spievey didn't get hurt. Kind of puts a pin in things until they are healthy. Bad luck with those injuries, nothing more. Green and Lacey did an average job especially with the lack of pressure that Detroit got this year.

I'd put way more blame on Florence and the backup safeties and the DEs than anything. Plus Durant sucks in coverage and Levy is average. Tulloch didn't make big turnover plays without the Dline pressure.

lol the point was he would have started on this team lol. bentley was and always will be nothing more than a dime/nickel. Hate to break it to you...the defense still would have sucked without all the injuries.

Bentley would and did start on this team but was hurt.

They wouldn't have sucked because of the secondary. Give me Houston, Bentley, Delmas and Spievey with good DE pressure and it's a top 5 secondary. In fact just give me Houston, Delmas and DE pressure like 2011. First 10 games of 2011, top 5 secondary(fact) then Delmas, Houston and Berry got hurt on Thanksgiving and Berry in the Viking game.

Bentley could be a better CB than Hayward next year. Bentley shoulder is fixed and he's ready to go. Greenwood or Green could be better than Hayward too. It's not always linear progression. I've seen Shields be good for the Packers 2010, suck 2011 then be good again 2012. We'll see what Hayward, Bentley, Greenwood and Green do next year. Again just because they weren't on your little pre 2012 draft board doesn't mean they can't be good players. Now go watch some youtube highlights of Josh Robinson.

hey....mel could draft better than maynhew. i have no doubt in my mind lol. LKP keeps comming up with all these dream scenerios that keep getting proven wrong by the shitty lions lol. All im doing is pointing out that the lions keep proving him wrong. Hes just in some sort of denial.

Go look at the grades Mel gave millens draft classes. Dude also had jimmy clausen as a top 10 pick.

at this point id take a millen F draft over a Mayhew INC. Last year for example. We drafted a LT we played at FB all year. Broyles who played 2 games. Bentley who played a couple games. Jonte Green and Greenwood. Wow....very productive draft that was.

Previous year....Fairley whos been arrested once and injured 3 times in 2 years. Titus who went crazy. Leshoure who was out an entire season then came back to get arrested a couple times and rush for 3.6 ypc and was probably outplayed by an undrafted guy that was cut. Traded up for whitehead who is going to the pro bowl to be on the cheerleader squad. Super duper productive draft that was!

Our team wasnt very talented when we were 10-6 and we didnt do anything to raise the talent level in the offseason and it showed. hence 4 wins. hence guys like wendling starting...lacey, silva, carey, lee all with significant playing time etc etc etc. We havent added any pieces in atleast a couple of years that have actually contributed to this team whether it be via draft or FA. if you have bad luck and guys you draft get injured and theres no depth to fill those spots....Thats a GM issue.

while it's true the past two draft classes have been iffy..you're not going to hit on every draft..this year we went 4-12..yes...but we also finished the year with the hardest schedule in the league..started off the year 6 of 8 on the road..and finished the year with highest opponent win %..follow it up with a ton of injuries in the middle to late year...the team that was struggling to win late..was clearly not the same as the beginning of the year..in fact i believe we had 1000 more yards than opponents this year..and of course the three game stretch against gb, indy, and houston in which we led all 3 games with 2 minutes left..and lost..talent is a bit of an issue..but i think if we have a good offseason this year..we will be just fine..
