Kiper Mock v1

Good call on that. I can see him falling out of the first too Monster. His 40 should be good but any medical flags will drop him. And Woods went in the 40s last year. With so many WRs we may have some surprise risers and fallers depending on who teams fall in love with at the position. Any wideouts outside of Watkins/Evans could go outside the first.

Medical issues? Well, that's our 2nd round pick then..

Well he didn't tear any ligaments like Broyles, but he missed several games with various issues, including knee issues, which suggest severe sprain or meniscus. I think the guys with size go above him and teams may see Crooks as a better slot. Still too early to speculate, but I could see Lee fall to the second. I know one guy we will have our eye on its Hughes' Rutgers WR. I'm sure Caldwell will be calling his pal Prince to get the skinny.

I have absolutely no problem with this guy being on the opposite side of Megatron. Sick of drafting slot receivers.

Me neither. Separation issues for him at this level are a real concern. That and does Matt have the timing and accuracy to throw the back shoulder, not just at the goaline but way down the field. If he runs a 4.5 though Monster, he's a lock. With our WRs and TEs we'd look like the Lakers getting off the bus, which is pretty cool. He got shut the F down against Mizzou though.

Goal line....run with 2 WR 2 TE. run all of their patterns into the middle of the endzone and have Matt just throw it up in the air. 6'5 CJ, 6'5 Evans, 6'7 Fauria, 6'5 Pettigrew lol. One of them come down with the ball.

How's his hands..? I'll be honest, with good speed just brings up Matt's accuracy. I don't believe he can hit anyone consistently enough to be of value. Assuming speed is his only asset.

I need the route running and hands guy..

How'd that work out this year..?

With just looking at it briefly Watkins catches 57% of his balls via the screen? Wow. You'd think the other teams would pick up on that better.

Btw, thanks Cheeno. That was some good stuff. Not watching college football as much as the rest of you, Evans intrigues me the most. At least based on those charts.

He's and intriguing prospect to put next to CJ for sure. Negatives, big yards coming off Manziel's ability to scramble; lack of separation downfield, creates separation in the air with push offs; shut down versus a good CB against Mizzou this year, which I am still trying to find the film on youtube to check out again. That all being said I would be excited if he was on our team.

Wow. Lee's drop rate is shocking.

I'm a big Lee fan but I could see him going late 1st or dropping well into the second. I'm hoping he's still there in the second if we do go in another direction in the first.

Is it a concern that Watkins was a big screen guy? Obviously, in the NFL the screen is not nearly as prevalent as in college. So he's not used to running many routes over 5 yards..though he had good yac.

I don't think it's much of a concern. The guy in the article briefly addressed that. For example, if you watched him play vs. Ohio State in the bowl game, he made catches all over the field.

Watkins was a big screen guy because as we all saw in the bowl game other teams just can't stop it. That is what skews those stats. Lee to a certain extent too, less because it was unstoppable but more because his QB wasn't very good. Watkins and Lee can both to some extent do it all.

I'm not a huge college football guy. UM and a game here and there..that's why you'll never here me say draft a particular guy here or there because I just don't know.

My bad if I came off as accusatory. I was just trying to give an example of a game where he made many different types of catches. In my opinion, in the unlikely scenario that Watkins falls to us at #10, we have to take him no matter what. He's that type of an impact player and pairing him with Calvin would be amazing.

You didn't come off that way at all. I must just post like I have a stick up my ...
