LeShoure Busted For Weed

Couldn't have a friend take the blame, even college kids are smart enough to figure that out.

Two times in two months. How stupid do you have to be. This is obnoxious. Weed is the last thing you need during rehab of an injury, it completely takes away your will to work. The front office should be pissed at him and there will be repercussions. Our running game and this kids future takes another hit.

I bet there is a bunch of you that do weed or use to do weed yet if you had an NFL contract would still do weed.

Has much more to do with his already quite precarious situation and now even dicier chances of experiencing even any short-term success, especially in a position that absolutely demands it most of all, as a "power" RB in the NFL, than it does with whether or not Mikel had later decided to resume his pot use soon afterward, and given the fact that he had just been busted earlier this year, means that Leshoure must like to take stupid career-threatening chances after he got acutely injured, and obviously lacks at least a "tiny" bit of common sense.

Mikel had garnered my sympathy for him as a Lions fan, him having been injured badly enough to miss playing even one single down in the preseason last year, which caused him to miss out on his entire rookie year, but not anymore...if he is gonna have what looks like a cavalier attitude about his future, then why should I give two shits about whether or not he successfully latches on, other than how he and his stupidity has negatively affected and still affects the rest of his potential teammates, and the Lions brass in their near-future draft picks.

Do what Wayne Fontes would do, blame it on a family member.

I've never smoked weed, cigs or drank. But from I hear the shit is hard to stop doing. I'm sure NFL players making millions its just as hard.

who gives a **** how hard it is to stop , lol.

these clowns see what happens when someone runs afoul of the law in this league , there is no excuse.

trying to come back from a serious achilles injury and the gimp gets busted twice for weed....just another mental midget on the roster.

Not like he was making a difference in 2011. He didn't have much of a career after the injury. Plus, sports figure do stupid shit. Always have, always will.

Didn't show up for his arraignment today either. Now he has a warrant out for his arrest.

He is a 2nd round pick Mitch.....lol

uh-oh..

"Fool me once...shame on.....shame on you!

"Fool me twice...you won't get fooled again"..hah!

no warrant yet.

he is expected Weds for a walk in plea.

Lions have been in contact w/police re: Leshoure arrest. He is expected to show up Wednesday for a walk-in arraignment.

Both the police and the county clerk say no warrant has been issued yet, but one will if he doesn't show up.

Walk-in arraignment...what..no drive-throughs yet?

Drive to the first courthouse window, and plead, then go to the next to pay the court costs fees and fines, if pled or found guilty, and maybe get an ankle probation monitor to "boot"?

I can imagine me calling one of my (ex)-bosses:

Me: "Hi, can't make it into work today, got busted again for possession of a controlled substance, but if you really, REALLY need me, would you mind contacting the court and tell them that I will do a walk-in appearance later this week on my day off ?"

Boss: "Uhh..yeah, sure, but you can still appear at court today, and then come in to work tomorrow morning, to pick up your personal belongings after I give you your pink-slip!!"

Mikel Leshoure - RB - Lions

Updating a previous item, Lions RB Mikel Leshoure failed to show for his Monday arraignment at a Berrien County Court after his second marijuana possession arrest in as many months.

"He was supposed to be here and he didn't show up," said prosecutor Arthur Cotter. The Detroit Free Press reported Monday afternoon that Leshoure has been in contact with the court and plans to do a walk-in arraignment on Wednesday. Still, his no-show is another big concern. After a 2011 Achilles' tear, the Lions can't reasonably be counting on Leshoure for the 2012 season.

From M-Live:

"According to the Baroda-Lake Police Department's report, Leshoure was the passenger in a 2012 Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV rental car being driven eastbound on I-94 by Donald Lee Stewart Jr. They were stopped for failure to signal a lane change and following another vehicle too closely at 6:05 p.m."

The officer said he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from their vehicle. Stewart, 22-years old, was asked for his driver's license, but told the officer he did not have it. According to the police report, Leshoure, who was in the passenger front seat, said the car was rented in his name. Leshoure, 21-years old, proceeded to give the officer his driver's license."

~snip~

"According to the police report, Leshoure admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the vehicle. Leshoure also said they mixed potpourri with the marijuana. According to the police report, Leshoure said most of what he was chewing was potpourri.

After running a background check, police found that Leshoure had a previous misdemeanor for controlled substance/use of marijuana on March 1, 2012 out of Berrien County.

The report said both were dropped off at a McDonald's in Stevensville. It also said the vehicle was towed, pending a Hertz rental pickup."

Mikel Leshoure tried to eat marijuana after the Detroit Lions running back was pulled over

Yummm...Pot-Potpourri...

Nice of the officer to drop the dudes off @ a Mickey-D's though, to help them take care of any (remaining) munchies...lol.

Kinda surprised that the driver wasn't taken to jail for driving w/o a license, since he "could" potentially have a warrant out on his arrest, and esp, since the cop also found out that Leshoure had been busted for the same offense, less than two weeks earlier.

Why would anyone mix weed with that synthetic k2/mr.niceguy shit??

They were in a rental, so perhaps the potpourri was being smoked to mask the very potent "skunky" pot stink, which isn't anything like your father's maryjane was in the 60s-70s, most of it being either very seedy and stemmy mexican or at best, thai-stick or columbian. Lots of very decent imported middle-eastern hashish was available back then, though...ala the actor Brad Davis' being busted in Turkey while boarding a jet plane in the (modeled IRL true-story) movie Midnight Express.
