Lions 2019 Draft

agreed Id go Greedy or Baker at this point. Clellin Ferril is more of an Okwara position than a dominate edge rusher that we need. Trade down is quickly becomming the best option outside of corner.....can target Montez Sweat, Polite or one of the tier 2 DTs that will be on the board.
 
From what I have read, it is difficult to sign a FA Edge Rusher as they are usually signed or franchised. But if they can sign one, maybe then trade down a little to get one of them, and or the Safety Delonte Thompson?

I have to imagine J. Clowney hits the market. Would be a LOT for Houston to sing him, Hopkins, Watt and Watson (in 2 years).

Grabbing Clowney would be a MASSIVE sign. Probably the biggest ?name? free agent in team history.

Thompson's a beast. I really like him. All depends on what they have in store for Walker to tell you the truth but a combo of Diggs and Thompson would be sweetness.

but is he just a "name" because he was the #1 overall draft pick? Is 29 sacks in 62 career games really that great?

Still better than anything we have to be honest. 18 sacks in 2 yrs. Upgrade for sure but idk about dumping a ton of money on him and he'll be asking for a ton. If they still draft a top end DE at #8 then I wouldn't mind dropping some coin on Clowney. We'd have to anyways to get him here lol. Our DLine has the potential to be scary next yr if we do it right.

I agree...I think somebody will overpay Clowney. I think Snacks is great. Probably the best move the Lions have made in a long time.

I don't want any part of Thompson. He got torched in the National Championship game.

Give me Bosa, Q. Williams, Greedy, Josh Allen, Clelin Ferrell or Ed Oliver in that order. If none of those guys are left when we draft at 8 then trade down. I would think one of them would be available, Two OT and a QB should go before our pick and Thompson may go before 8 as well. Someone will make a big jump at the combine as well.

You're not getting Bosa, Q. Williams, Allen for sure. Greedy is probably gone but I do think Oliver and Ferrell are there.
You want nothing to do with Thompson because of ONE game?? Lol. That's insane but ok. The kid is a stud

The kid was staring in the backfield and getting burnt deep over and over. That's a bad trait in a safety.

None of us ever agree 100% on prospects. I know I would be disappointed if we drafted him but he could be a stud. I will support almost anyone we draft and hope for the best. Unless it is another Ebron situation. I'm still pissed about that one.

Trust me, i'm not on the Thompson train because I think we have our next great Safety in Walker. I just like him.
I'm leaning more on Ferrell or even Oliver at 8. All depends on Oliver's knee actually but he's a monster. Lions could fall in love with this kid. Especially Patricia because of how so versatile he'll be...
 
ya im good if Walker slides in as a starting S. Another safety could let Diggs play Nickel....but i think we have bigger needs. Id even want White before Thompson imo and ILB isnt that huge of a need. Regardless they say get up the middle right on D...Snacks and Davis need some help at some point.
