Lions GM Bob Quinn speaks to media

Not playing the QB is easy. Big injury rest when it doesn't matter. But sitting healthy players is just wrong. When you tank it doesn't make your team better in the years to come.

Im a fact based guy. The defensive numbers improved greatly going from Caldwell to Patricia. Obviously this year they regressed...but that group has been decimated by injuries. 9 starters were listed on the injury report the week we played Dallas lmao. Combine that with the fact Quin did nothing to help him create pressure. I think this year has been Quins fault more than Patricia. There still several players on this team that arent his guys and Patricia has had to work through that the 1st 2 seasons. Glover...gone. Diggs...gone. Slay will be gone this off season...book it. Get him a couple more guys that buy in and a pass rush and i think this team can be much improved going into next year. Get to work Quin.

Man lkp hacked you. Another thread you're all about Stafford, now this.

Finally observing stafford greatness and problems injuries can cause. Love to see it

I’m ok giving Patricia another year. I’m not a huge fan as of today but I have seen some good game planning early in the season. We’ve beat the pats last year, played KC good, got robbed against GB, held leads in all but one game this year.

If we were winning games the last couple weeks, people would complain about screwing up the draft. Lose, people call for the coaches/GM heads . Let the process work itself out. Patricia and Quin, one more year.

With Stafford having his arguably best year and yet he was still 3-4-1 something isn't right. If you think it's lack of talent then after 4 years Quinn should be gone. Otherwise if you think Quinn has been fine then Patty isn't getting it done. Patty has made enough bone head plays that I don't see him as a worthy head coach.

What's one more year going to do? If they won the last two weeks we'd still call for their heads because we did it games ago. 1st time HC and 1st time GM have not worked for us.

The Detroit Lions made the right, but difficult, decision keeping Quinn, Patricia.
The Lions are in a lose-lose situation, but they gave themselves the best chance with this tough decision.

My biggest concern is that now that Quinn/Patricia are in a lose and you're out situation that they'll be less likely to make good moves for the future.

What if Chase Young has a Myles Garrett type combine and goes #1, then the Giants go OT at #2? You really think Quinn takes Joe Burrow at #3 when they're in 'win now' mode? This has all the makings of a draft so disappointing that it makes the Big Cock Hock pick look great.

What position does someone take in a win now mode? I know people are high on Chase but this team is more than a Chase to compete. We don't even know if Matt 2020 is anything like 2019. He could be Matt 2018 (or a number of other years) or IR again.

To me with the back issues it makes sense to go QB. But they won't do that even if during the off season Matt retires. Which I don't think he does. Which is why if the OT is available I believe they take him.

"Win now" mode can't be too much worse than "building for the future" mode when it comes to Quinn. He is a terrible GM, he is bound to always make a shitty decision.

While I'm not saying Chase is the key to the Lions making the playoffs, it would certainly fill the biggest hole and also be BPA. A rookie edge guy will have a larger impact than a rookie QB 9/10 times. Especially when you already have Stafford, who while on his way out, doesn't appear to be done yet.

As I don't think this team has near the talent for a 'win now' attitude, I would be furious if they passed on Burrow.

I don't think you're wrong on either opinion. I don't know if I've ever been this NOT excited for the draft.
