Lions Kicking The Tires On RBs At Senior Bowl

SLICK said:
you got 2 young RBs who are very questionable right now..and behind them a bunch of scrubs.

the Lions will draft a RB in the first 3 rounds of the 2012 draft.....bookmark this and throw it in my face after the draft if Im wrong.
For sure, IF someone is there. Still don't expect Mayhew to force it.

why ? he has forced it the last 2 years.

dealing up both times to grab a RB the Lions liked.

The article is a literature review spanning from about 1960-2007, with the latest study on NFL players cited coming from Parekh in 2007 which presents similar findings to the apparently 'debunked' 2002 paper.

The average age of players in the study was 29 because achilles rupture is in the vast majority of cases a degenerative injury and thus is more prevalent in veteran players. I can look up the age variance in the Parekh paper if I get bored later. According to this paper in all likelihood Leshoure probably already had some issues with his achilles prior which the Lions Meds missed. They describe some of the advancements in treating achilles toward the bottom of the article, and being young for any injury certainly helps.

The guy may come back and take the league by storm and I don't wan't to piss on the eternal optimist but I'm sure the FO is not brimming with confidence on this one hence the title of this thread.
Sure, they're worried. But they're not spending big money on a FA RB. They'll almost definitely draft one, but I think Leshoure will play in 2012.

I think he'll play too but how effective will he be is the major ??? I'm sure everyone hopes he comes in and is up to the task. Just saying achilles is no joke and a major concern.

Let's say they do go RB in round 3 who is likely to be there?

David Wilson , Chris Polk,LaMichael James , Isiah Pead , Ronnie Hillman

2nd and 3rd round guys.

I know he is basically Best the Second but I like LaMichael James. Another finger crosser who isn't going to carry the load is probably a luxury the Lions can't afford. Polk or Wilson seem to fit that role better. Isn't Wilson the guy who ran for about a 20 yard loss against UM.

if he was there in the 3rd I'd jump all over James.

1st - Konz , Adams or Glenn OL

2nd - Vinny Curry DE

3rd - LaMichael James RB

4th - Brandon Boykin CB

Boykin maybe wishful thinking in the 4th..but I have seen him mocked anywhere from mid 2nd to late 4th.

Ok yeah. I meant he wouldn't reach for one. But yeah, trade is always possible.

Love Vinny Curry. James reminds me of Sproles. I think he goes higher but late 3rd? Thats a steal.

Boykin might not be wishful thinking. He got hurt in the Senior Bowl. He says its not bad but we'll see.

Amid reports that Georgia CB Brandon Boykin broke his leg in Saturday's Senior Bowl game, Boykin tweeted that his injury was "not as bad as the reports have said," and he'll be "back in three weeks."
Boykin injured his right leg on a second-quarter special teams return and did not reenter the game. UGA radio personality Buck Belue wrote on his Twitter Saturday night that Boykin had a fractured leg, but the player insists the injury isn't that serious. It sounds like Boykin plans to be healthy for the Combine. A projected early second-day pick, Boykin goes 5-foot-9, 183. By all accounts, he was one of the Senior Bowl's top performers.

+1 on that draft :'( of joy.

10000 % on Vinny Curry.....let Avril walk and invest the money in a FA Corner.

Who are some FA CB's, Slick?

I know this question isn't directed at me but Grimes, Rogers, and Finnegan are probably the top 3. Of those I'd say Finnegan is the most likely because of Schwartz ties. I smell a camp out.

I am on the sign Avril train, but if a DE like Curry can be got in the draft and if it was the difference between signing Finnegan or not, in that specific scenario I could see the FO letting him walk.

the decision on Cliff will be made before the draft , so we'll know the direction they are going.

Ok then, if they let Avril roll, they better bring in a guy like Finnegan or Grimes. That would make me feel a lot better about letting Cliff go.

Add Tim Jennings and Brandon Carr to that list. And Samuel will be traded/cut.

Momo is done. Williams is a dud. Leshoure will be PUP.

Cyrus Gray...round 3. Yes please. Not as fast as Lamichael but imo has quicker feet. Watch the runs at 2:22 and 2:34...ridiculous.

1 Mercilus DE
2 Zeitler G
3 Gray RB

Love slicks draft but i dont think they pull the trigger that early on Crayola replacements...they dont have the balls.
