Lions listening to offers for Tate and traded to the Eagles

Funny thing is how does Patricia look professional? He has a baseball cap on, no dress shirt or anything and though I didn't notice most likely had shorts on. The camera is on him not the reporter so how is the reporter inappropriate but not Patricia? And maybe trim your beard.

We got blasted by the Jets. I know why head coaches get extended they start bad and then in year 3 get to 9-7, bam extension. How many times did I hear "he's a defensive coach so our defense should be better, the schemes." Yeh.

He is a defensive coach that is known for turning nobody's into somebody's actually. He's doing that here with a few guys.
He's also known for notoriously having slow starts on his defenses and then turning it on down the stretch. Obviously this team needa mor? star power on defense. We're not the Patriots. I'm not throwing the coach under the bus after 7 games. I'm sure he'll figure it out long before we do....

It's not about how you look. It's about how you act. ACT professional. Sound professional. BE professional. Nobody cares about what they're wearing. Only idiots do that. Dude can be wearing a fucking garbage bag with vanilla pudding all up in his beard. Nobody cares but act like you care about your job. Slouching is a sign of disrespect in my world. Fucking kids do it because they don't know any better. Adults should act accordingly....

So he didn't sound professional? So a garbage bag with pudding all up in his beard (that was funny by the way) is okay but not slouching out of camera. Yeah right. Lol.

Trying to decide if I care

Mmmm close call but decided maybe he just should have said fuck off next question and the reporter could have replied fuck you too douche bag

As someone who works for the media I can tell you if one of our publishers saw a reporter slouching while asking a pool question, they wouldn't be fired, but they wouldn't be on that beat any more either.

Rothstein is a hack reporter at best, better suited for being a blogger. Patricia called him out. And good on him for it.

I like seeing a coach that is willing to give is as good as we give him. Maybe they will stop talking about his beard and his pencil and start covering his coaching.

Was Patricia slouching at the podium supporting himself with his hands?

To me it seemed like Patricia was mad about being called out on a move that doesn't appear to help the team that is a game back of the playoffs and controls its own destiny.

Also the way you dress is part of being professional.

1. Patricia never traded anyone.
2. Patricia dresses fine. He doesn't need to be in a 3 piece suit
3. Look up the word "slouching". You obviously need to lol

Mat Patricia was brought in to win games and help change the culture in Detroit. Not just the players, but the culture.

His statement to Rothstein sets a tone. He expects people to BEHAVE professionally. He didn't criticize the way a reporter dressed. In stated that he expects the reporter to conduct himself in a professional manner.

Reporters are in that room by invitation. It's a privilege, not a right.

Do you think reporters act like amateurs when asking questions to Belichick? Patricia is setting the tone he was hired to set, and I approve.

I bet someone slouched when asking Belichick a question before. And you think the players are taking notice because of this? I doubt they even noticed. Or cared.

Golden Tate wasn't necessarily "elite" at producing 1st downs (t-49th in '16, t-40th in '17), but he'd been the Lions' go-to on 3rd down.

This season on 3rd:
Tate: 15 rec-198 yds (10 firsts)
M. Jones: 5-100
Golladay: 4-70
Riddick: 5-54
Johnson: 4-48
Roberts: 2-19
Willson: 1-5

ya, thats the part i see us having a hard time replacing...golladay and Jones will be fine on the outside but either our TEs that have been nonexistant need to step up or Powell has to create space in the middle of the field as good as Tate did.

Looks like TJ is getting that opportunity first over Powell.

Not surprised at all. The Lions weren't dropping huge coin though. They obviously tried to lowball Tate which is exactly what should have been done.

I'm sure they offer a contract extension similar to what he is being paid now. Everyone knows he wouldn't go for that but the Lions had to offer an extension before trading him.

Hate to see him go but I agree with the move.

Eagles OC: Incorporating Tate into the offense has been difficult

Have to wonder if the Eagles might regret this trade. That team is not in great shape right now and there?s no guarantee Tate even re-signs. They basically acquired a half-season rental without a plan.

I thought Cooter was the dummy here? Difficult getting Tate involved in the offense??? Lmao. Trade looks better and better as the season rolls...
