For those who were saying I was wrong with saying the Lions need to win out to make the playoffs, they are now in the 7 spot, with Seattle jumping them based on best win % in common games.

Yes, many games still to be played, just making an observation. They need to go into the rest of the year with the belief that another loss and they are out of the playoffs. Wasn't the stated expectations at the start of the year that they make the playoffs? Put up or shut up time.

Not that I am confident they will win a playoff game...

If they don't make the playoffs... Man, can't even think of anything lol.

Does anybody really expect them to win out? We've got Chicago, Tampa, and Minnesota at home, then we're at Chicago and Green Bay to end the year. Assuming things go well and the offense gets off life support, we're probably still looking at 1-2 more losses. I think we'll split w/ the Bears and lose in GB. We should beat Tampa and Minnesota, but then again, it's still the damn Lions we're talking about.

Atlanta is in the playoffs as of now. Hilarious. Mike Smith has cost his team two games and still are the #4 seed.

One game at a time. If they can beat Chicago Thursday, and some other teams help the Lions out things might look a little rosier.

That's a big IF though. I'd like to see this team come out angry and blow the Bears out. That would really show me they're serious.

I agree with this...but these players have shown previously to have very fragile egos. If they start slowly on offense against Chicago...they'll be in trouble.

Too many games between contenders. 11 wins and they will get in. Weather they get to 11 is the mystery. I just hope they don't stay at 7.

4-1 and we are a 95% lock to get in. But yeah 4-1 is not happening with this clown show... Dare to dream...

I'd be surprised if they finish with more than 10 wins. You just know they're going to drop a frustrating game to one of these shitty teams.

Of course we'll also have to endure games where Stafford plays like shit for 90% of the game, only to make a winning comeback when a comeback shouldn't have been necessary.

We should come up with a stat for these comebacks,'false comebacks'?

How pissed will we all be at 10-6 when one of those under .500 teams makes the playoffs and the Lions are left out because of shitty losses to the Panthers, Bills, AZ (with freaking drew Stanton) and one of these shitty four teams coming up...

Last year AZ was left out at 10-6 while the winner of the shitty NFC North got in with 8 wins. The funny thing...AZ probably wins 11 or 12 games in the north last year!

Guys, they ain't making the playoffs.

This offense under Lombardi went from Good to Awful and the only other change was adding Ebron and Tate. To me, he is the glowing red light that is the main problem with the offense. If Linehan can get Stafford to make the offense productive and now he isn't under Lombardi....not that hard to see he is probably the cause.

We won't make the playoffs with the offense like this. Our Defense has been great and we have been very fortunate to many 50/50 things that happen in NFL games prior to that Arizona game. Luck is running out, need guys to actually step up.

As much as I think the Lions have been playing poorly, I just don't see them losing against Chicago, Minnesota, or Tampa at home. I don't know if you guys have watched those 3 teams play this season, but they are REALLY fucking bad. Stafford could continue to play like dog shit and the defense can win those games.

My real concern are the 2 road games ending the season. Detroit really needs New England to beat Green Bay at Lambeau.

The offense really did stall the last four games last year Z... Matt and Scott were not good in those games... But yes it appears right now that Scott L. was a tad better the Joe..

Mike Smith reminds me of one of those "aww shucks" type guys that has everything fall in his lap.
