Lions now #7

Your point being? He's already recorded a huge tackle total in his first season.

Cooks- 550 yards, 3 TD
Ebron- 140 yards, 1 TD

Have a good day.

Saints 4-7
Lions 7-4

Having a great day. We don't need rookies to do well.

Lol we don't????? You don't think it would help if Ebron was actually, you know, helping? The offense wouldn't be hilariously bad maybe??

PS: Lions are outside looking in right now.

Lions in the drivers seat and 4 bad opponents coming up. It's 2 bad games. There were plenty of good offensive performances in the first 9 games. Cards/Pats are tough. Lions will rebound with or without Ebron.

No one in the NFL is "bad." Any team can jump up any week. Just ask the Lions last year when they had a home game against Tampa.

And the fact that you say "with or without" Ebron is basically admitting it was wasting a 1st round pick.

We didn't need a rookie. This was a complete team after free agency.

We can with health to the Oline the next five weeks.

They haven't been able to all year but it's a Thanksgiving MIRACLE...the Lions will run the ball and protect the QB with health on the O-line!

IF the Lions make the playoffs...do you know what kind of teams they will be playing? Teams like NE, AZ...not MN, TB & the Bears.

Zach Martin is a beast for the Cowboys. I have heard him in consideration for offensive rookie of the year which is saying something for an OL.

Lewan was doing well for awhile, same for the guy the Dolphins drafted. I guess we were set at oline because we had a first round pick and and UDFA at tackles but we were hurting at TE because we had a first round pick and UDFA. We all know TE is more important than OL, well at least in Mayhew's warped mind.

What is he thinking of his moar weapons logic now I wonder. Like LKP he must be another guy who's never wrong.

Waddle does fine when healthy. Same with Reiff. We didn't need a starting tackle

Come on Tom, you know 1st round picks don't make immediate impacts.

Here is how you should gauge 1st round picks.

OL: You don't expect them to play year one, then you only judge them based on their good games, bad games don't count.

TEs: 2-3 years*, unless he is a blocking TE then 6-7 years

QBs - 8 Years - You can't expect a QB to come in an make a difference and be elite in his first 7 years, not possible.

CBs - 3rd round or later only, there has never been a good 1st round CB period, Mayhew knows this. Smartest man in the room

DT: If taken in top 2 you can declare them greatest player ever at their position. Otherwise, you need to wait until contract year to judge them

RBs: If you get two good games out of them then its a success.

*Subject to change if need to justify Ebron as a good pick

Lets see...a TE who cannot contribute ANYTHING... or....WR who says the right things, shows leadership qualities, great work ethic (including practicing making 1 handed catches), has amazing hands, runs solid routes, has vertical speed... and as a rookie has already made one of the best catches of all time.

Damn I am so fucking happy they didn't draft OBJ!!!! Thank you Mayhew for not bringing in another stud WR and instead had as your BPA a developmental and non-contributing TE who runs routes short of the first down marker... but that's ok because he would more likely drop the ball than catch it anyway.

Fucking retarded having Ebron as BPA at #10. FUCKING RETARDED

The thing I dont get about drafting Ebron(and I tried to give Mayhew a chance) is if the tight end is only a receiving threat(with questionable hands) and will do zero blocking, why not get a wr (obj) who has solid hands and route running.

Gronk and even Graham to a point can still provide some blocking along with their elite skill set in the receiving game. Ebron drops passes and some times just runs a route for fun and doesnt look for the ball.

If this is a complete team then stafford should be released.

Needs some health on the Oline to get the run game going. Stafford did well first 9. then Calvin/Tate were blanketed last 2. Plus 3 dropped TDs last game.
