Lions sign Stafford to 5 year $135 Million deal, highest paid QB, now restructured

153 for 11 or more yards for Stafford. 129 for Brady in 12 games

Let's compare Stafford to Brady

Brady short fields galore and had a run game.

Stafford did it all himself with long drives and no run game

Brady had a 112 rating with 28 TD and 2 INT. So obviously more efficient.

Brady had more short fields and more run game support.

Stafford would have had 150 rating with that support. He had over 100 rating before the injury

Shorter fields make it harder to complete passes. Once again you sound like an idiot.

Short fields give you easy TD opportunities. TDs are what makes QB rating rise.

Rodgers had 17 more short fields than Stafford. I wonder why he had 15 more TDs

Rodgers had 300 more rushing yards in the season. I wonder why Rodgers had more TD opportunities

Rodgers had less drops. I wonder why he had more completions

Short fields, run game, weapons, protection, drops all matter for QB rating. Stafford is accurate and makes good decisions. His mistakes are rare

you shouldnt have any mistakes when you throw it 5 yards 40 times a game.

Matt is basically a 150 rating QB. Now the money makes sense..

I think 'Hughes said it best the other day .. "He better start winning some fucking games.."

sorry my bad....its not 5 yards....he actually only throws it 3.53 yards in the air on average. 7th worst in the league....and yes, right around the same as alex smith and joe flacco.

Alex Smith? No way.

Alex Smith had 121 11 over more yards. 153 for Stafford

Stafford threw the ball 105 more times

KC also relies on their run game way more as they don't let Smith throw as often. KC ran the ball 62 more times than Detroit.

Smith had 10 less TDs and worse int %

Stafford was a good to great QB. Over 100 rating before the injury. Smith was middle of the road with no injury

It's disrespectful to compare Stafford to Smith

Stafford has full reign. KC doesn't let Smith throw very much

Stafford compares to Brady not Smith

Smith did not have a worse INT rate. It's always better than Matt though last season was close. 1.5 last 4 years, Matt is over 2.0 more like 2.2.

Plus I don't believe Matt has full reign..

LOL Matt clearly has full reign. Holy crap do you even watch the games

They don't let Smith throw the ball. Stafford is slinging it everywhere including deeper

Stafford is Brady without the support and Stafford has the better arm

Matt does not sling it everywhere, thus the 3.7 yards per pass in the air. Who cares about a better arm if you don't use it.

Matt was top half in the league in air yards. Top 10 if not for his finger injury for ONE QUARTER OF THE SEASON.

cause as you point out in an earlier post....he throws it hundreds of times more than other qbs! You cant use the stats both ways. Hes bottom 7 in average air yards. Stop twisting shit....

Stafford has full reign of that offense.....I've heard everyone from Caldwell to Collinsworth and Gruden talk about it. He can change any play he wants at any time.

I don't think he calls plays though.....ala Terry Bradshaw. So I guess it all depends on your definition of full reign.
