Lions Trade Van Noy

Ebron, swanson and lawson. Still a good class with 3 starters

Van noy played well in college. That is why mayhew drafted. Good rusher. Lions thought they could convert him since he is decently athletic. Didnt work. Injuries stunted his growth too

I am sure Mayhew thought a whole bunch of shit. There's a reason why we have no 2nd rounders panning out in his era, and a reason why he's no longer here.

I was stoked when we drafted KVN. That wore out quick when the guy just couldn't get on the field, and when he did... you knew he was a Mayhew 2nd rounder.

I'm surprised we gave up a linebacker with how shallow that pool is, but as far as him leaving town... meh.

That puts things into perspective, thanks for posting. Now, hopefully Bostic plays well.

You're welcome kdp.
When I come across a story that fits a thread I will post it.
The rest of them are posted in the Lion's Notes.

imo, PrideOfDetroit has some good guys writing about the Lions.
Similar to BlessYouBoysTigersBlog. All part of SBNation.

Got to agree KC, prideofdetroit does good work. Thanks for posting the notes everyday by the way, I know the guys here appreciate it.

I always liked KVN. Injuries took over and he just hasn't done enough to warrant a roster spot. Has some talent and imo he was used improperly here. He's better off getting after the QB.

The change at LB is very much needed.

Good luck to Van Noy.....not his fault we took an edge rushing 3-4 LB and tried to make him a coverage LB. I'm sure NE will get the most out of him.

Levy bynes and bostic got hurt. That is why van noy had to play out of position. Bynes back now. Bostic soon. Hopefully levy soon. Williams showing flahses made van noy expendable. This trade could have happened in august if bynes ,bostic levy never got hurt in first place. Bad luck using your 4th option in coverage

Bad luck when our 4th option doesnt even fit our scheme, lol. Itd be hilarious if Quin or Austin bashed Mayhew over this.

4th option doesnt fit many schemes. Guys got hurt. We dont use a rush lb for some reason. Van noy was athletic enough to try to make him a regular lb. Worth a shot. Injuries first two years didnt help. Lions still can have good lbs with levy whitehead bynes and bostic. And williams is showing good things. Let him develop on the field too

You don't make a 2nd round pick as a 4th option or to "take a shot". Lions struggle just to stay above .500, they don't have that luxury.

Dude couldn't get on the field in Detroit, injured or healthy. Whether you're of the belief that he's a bad player or he doesn't fit the scheme, it was a bad pick. I'm glad they got anything for him at this point.

He was the top pass rushing lb option. But we arent using that anymore and van noy never developed into a complete lb. He had the potential hence the pick but never lived up to it. Injuries and hos lack of mental game didnt help and were both unforseen
