you have to fire him at the end of the season...don't you? discuss....

you inherit one of the more potent offenses in the league. You add a 1000+ yd WR in tate. And you turn it into one of the worst offenses in the league? Oline gets some of the blame. Stafford definitely gets some of the blame. But the plan seems like its the biggest problem.

Not sure about the offense ..Our last four games last year were pretty bad.. Offense was starting to go bad under Scott last year.... Joe has just taken it to new heights...In being Bad..

Gotta look at the head of the table, Matt S. I've seen teams drop TD's all day today from all over the place. But Matt is too inconsistent he doesn't recover from that..

Drop tds. Two best linemen hurt. Time to destroy the weak bears bucs and vikings.

Maybe not. Long season. Bring on the fucking shit bears

Lions put up 40 again

If you haven't noticed, destroying any team is a thing of the past. They are not capable anymore.

LKP called the 1 point wins over the Saints and Atlanta "Lions dominance" so I am guessing ANY win would be considered "Destroying" by our little delusional homer.

I think we've more than reached the point where we need to let Stafford be Stafford.

They tried to make him into a less of a liability, while there has been some success in the turnover area, he and the offense are doing nothing.

I understand the theory to try and control the game, go on long drives, eat up clock and just wear down defenses but that just isn't happening.

Stafford just isn't built for this, he doesn't have the skill set to go on long sustained drives with high completion percentage. He doesn't have the great redzone accuracy needed. He just needs to be in a big play offense. He may throw a few more interceptions but he will also throw some TDs. Something just has to change. Who cares if we have a few more 3 and outs, controlling the clock means jack if you are settling for 45 yard field goal tries.

How I miss mediocre matt.

26th in QB rating. He is what he is. It's pretty obvious at this point. If you aren't elite by your SIXTH year, it's probably not meant to be.

And that's why this team needs to seriously look at drafting a QB.

I agree with this. The turnovers are one part of the whole when it comes to offense. It may be an oversimplification, but all I really care about is points on the board. We don't do that very well this year. Turn him loose. I'll take the good with the bad. Because right now there is less bad and almost no good.

Best sentence I've read all season, Brewer. Once again, we have coaches that don't know how to handle our qb. Working on his footwork is one thing, but trying to limit his mistakes by taking the ball out of his hands is a HUGE mistake. Limiting him is not going to make him better. They need to go back to throwing the ball all over the place to see if the offseason work truly paid off. Changing his game and trying to be conservative is something should NEVER be done with Stafford. Let him play his style of game, just keep working on the fundamentals with him.

Earlier in the season Caldwell said something like the offense will be aggressive as far as how the defense is playing. Paraphrasing because I don't remember it but he made it sound like if the defense is keeping us in the game, he'll play a certain way. I took it as slower and less aggressive/not in a hurry. That they'd play a safer..field position type game.

So maybe that's the reason for the struggle on offense. Of course yesterday was a time we needed to try for bigger plays but it can't just turn on and off..But Matt now is the ultimate double check down (maybe by design).
