Mario and Rod fight, both fired, now Mario with new team

interesting. but yeah details details i'd like to know what it was over.

If one has to go get rid of Rod. Of course, that would be more Gibby, which is terrible to listen to.

let em both go, Mario is boring. track wall doesn't do it for me.

What was the issue ?

The articles I?m reading claim that Tigers insiders are saying that they have never liked each other.

So maybe it?s nothing really Specific, Maybe it?s just an accumulation of crap if they have been pissed off at each other for a long time.

I despise Rod. I even had to endure him when he was broadcasting for Arizona for all those years. Although Gibby isn't great, I watch/listen to enough other broadcasts to know there are far worse.

Broadcasting together while @ home and on the road for 17 years, and never liking but instead merely tolerating each other....surprised that they didn't mix it up a long time ago, or one of them trying to hook up with another team's play by play or color broadcasting slot. Regarding Tigers announcers, I remember attending a wedding reception back in the mid-70s, and the late Ernie Harwell's 60s color guy in Ray Lane was there, along with a young blonde woman, who he apparently was dating at the time.

She took a sudden "interest" in me while I was seated with some friends at another nearby table, and she kept leaving Lane's table to talk. I noticed that Ray was getting pissed, and was giving me the evil eye, but she was the one hitting on me, not the other way around. I thought that he was going to confront me/us sooner or later, but he never did. She eventually left with Lane, but not before writing her name and phone # on a napkin and then she asked one of the other ladies who were seated at their table, to give it to me afterward. I never called her though.

Gibby seems far more knowledgeable but my god it?s like going into a coma when he talks

Gibby speaks in a monotone voice w/o much inflection, which makes him sound dry and dull. Taking a public speaking course during the off-season might help.

He wasn't like that when he was younger.. Maybe Parkinson's. Though some who have this disease talk really fast. So who knows.. The problem with our booth is the fact they talk about a bunch of shit that doesn't matter.. And they talk so darn much.. Non stop chatter about stupid things.

Funny, I posted that before clicking on Nash’s link. Then opened his link and it was in the actual article lol

I always get a kick out of that poor pitcher who's like "get away from me."

Tom Shaer, Allen's agent, called the allegations false and released the following statement to WDIV regarding the incident:

"We have not commented because Fox Sports Detroit is handling this professionally and thoroughly. But these ridiculous, blatantly false descriptions require me to speak the truth and say they are utter fabrications. Nobody followed anybody, there was no contact from behind, and a "choke hold" is a shamefully untrue way to describe anything which occurred in that very brief altercation.
Anonymous fabrications by others do injustice to the very concepts of fairness and professionalism. Those who give such gross untruths to media should be ashamed of themselves."

You gotta think that Gibby's Parkinsons has affected his speech where he talks slow and monotone. I like his insight.
I doubt he would be able to be more than what he does now due to the health issue.

Mario is good to ok, Rod has his moments, but sorry he is my least favorite.

If there is truth to Rod putting Mario in a choke hold, I can't see Rod back in the booth when Mario is there.

When the dust settles, one or both could actually be gone.
