Get StartedI always get a kick out of that poor pitcher who's like "get away from me."
You gotta think that Gibby's Parkinsons has affected his speech where he talks slow and monotone. I like his insight.
I doubt he would be able to be more than what he does now due to the health issue.
Mario is good to ok, Rod has his moments, but sorry he is my least favorite.
If there is truth to Rod putting Mario in a choke hold, I can't see Rod back in the booth when Mario is there.
When the dust settles, one or both could actually be gone.
The problem with our booth is the fact they talk about a bunch of shit that doesn't matter.. And they talk so darn much.. Non stop chatter about stupid things.
to be fair, they really don't have much to talk about on the field. It probably gets old talking about a shitty team.
Fan fact unrelated: I've watched clips from game 7 of the '68 series many times but it dawned on me Norm Cash wasn't wearing a helmet. As I was only 3 was it optional back then?
Edit: This answered my question:
"On this day in 1941 the Dodgers announced that their players would wear batting helmets. After some earlier rules regarding batting helmets, in 1971 MLB mandated that all players were helmets. Current players didn't have to abide by the rule.
The last three active players to go without helmets at the plate were Bob Montgomery (last game in 1979), Tony Taylor (1976) and Norm Cash (1974)."
Mario may survive the fallout, but not Rod. Perhaps a move to radio is in-store for Mario, with Dickerson moving to TV. Much less interaction with various color commentators on radio for Mario there. Just Jim Price and Jim's eventual replacement in the near future, upon his retirement, which is looming close-by. That new name on radio could become Craig Monroe, as Mario' sidekick. I don't see Monroe replacing Rod in the TV Booth.
