Do you think CJ will ever break 2000 yards in a season?

Last year he led the league with 1681 yards on 96 receptions (17.5 ypc)
The single season record is 1848 in 1995 by Jerry Rice. He had 122 receptions that year (15.1 ypc)

My opinion is I think he wont. But I do think it is possible for him to do it...

The reason is, assuming he has similar # of catches as last year (100) he would have to average 20 ypc. If he continued his ypc of last year he would need 115 catches - certainly doable, but unlikely given the amount of weapons the Lions can throw to for Megatron to get the amount of touches it would take for him to get 2000 yards.

Young, Pettigrew, and Burleson all get lots of catches, add in Broyles and Best/Leshore and there is just not enough balls for him to get that # of catches.

That being said, Megatron has the ability to have 3-4 200 yard games per season, which definately helps his chances.

If he is going to break any recieving record, I think it will be the TD record. But who knows..I'll be happy with identical #s as last year out of him.

yeah there's a chance. its about the same as a comet wiping out the entire human race at exactly 4:20pm est. today while I'm sexing Halle Berry and Christian Bale is watching, cheering me on saying I would've made a much better Batman than him.

also, in before

I think he can. Throw out his worst 2 games and add in 2 more monster games(which he had one in the playoffs) which is possible. 3 of 4 down the stretch were 200 yard games and the 4th was a 100 yard game with a TD against San Diego. And the Viking game he only had 3 targets for some reason. Counting the playoffs he had over 1,800 yards in 17 games. 2,000 is very very tough but possible with Calvin.

Plus Calvin could be more efficient. 96 receptions on 158 targets. Catch a few more balls with similar targets is very possible.

Not possible, no chance. You can't if this and if that. For one CJ had more high yardage games than anyone can expect. You can't expect that again. And now and then he will have a lower output game. Just the way it works.

No chance, not possible.

He can be more efficient 158 targets but only 96 catches, he had Stafford hurt for 3 games with his finger and he is a beast. He had a 29,29 and 49. It is very possible with Calvin. 80 yards is basically his starting point for a game.

Its not happening ever. Until maybe they go 18 game schedule.

Average 125 a game. Calvin can do that now that 200 yards a game can happen a bunch.

The way the league is moving towards monster passing numbers nothing would surprise me.

Calvin averaged 111 per game counting the playoff game. 125 is like one more catch a game.

4 200 yard games is very possible for Calvin. I saw 3 out of 4 200 yard games.

Then he needs to average 100 in the remaining 12. It's up to Stafford really staying healthy.

Because we know a guy who has a bunch of 200 yard games will continue to get them. Why not 3000 yards, 4000?

Calvin can get 200 yard games. 4 in one season is no problem with a healthy Stafford. Calvin is only getting better and Linehan got smart to move Calvin around more.

love Cj , love Stafford.....but 2000 yd WR season.....way to many things have to go pefect , just dont see it happening.
