Megatron 2000 yard season?

wait, people still play fantasy football without the PPR format? I was under the impression that PPR has transitioned into being the standard and that Pettigrew was a surefire #1 tight end. next you're going to be telling me people still call in their lineups the night before and we have to wait for the monday paper for scoring.

I, a long long time ago, played in an mail fantasy baseball league. You draft, send a list of players you want through the mail, 2 weeks later you get the results. For the season H2H, after every seven games a so you'd get the results mailed to you, another two-three weeks. It was freakin' awesome. $50 for the season.

It went from year to year, able to keep 5 guys from the year before for next years team and you could draft players who were still in AAA, AA. I drafted A-Arod 2 years before he got to the show. Best game ever.

lmao nice. I do play in a PPR. But you are definitely under the wrong impression when it comes to "standard". ESPN, CBS, Yahoo, ect all consider non-PPR to be the standard.

Personally, I like mixing it up. One standard, one PPR. More interesting.

Thats some dedication. I like it.

WHAT? Gronk, Graham, Hernandez, Gates, Vernon Davis, Witten, Fred Davis, Finley all get taken ahead of him. He doesn't have high upside. You know what you're gonna get.

Gates, Vernon Davis, Fred Davis? You're fn high, buddy. Maybe Witten and Hernandez but i'm taking Grew over both...especially in a PPR league. Pettigrew is at least no more than the 6th TE off the board. I like him as the 4th, after Graham, Gronk and Finley...

Every TE I mentioned also outscored Pettigrew last year, so we don't even need to talk about upside to put those guys ahead of him.

Seriously, he was the #11 TE in a standard last year while playing a full season. There's little to no reason to expect his statistics to increase significantly. How on earth will he make it into the top 5?

Standard scoring is retarded. PPR is the way to go...

This where I rank him as well, I think he can easily be a top 5 TE in standard, if you miss the top two, 8th round is robbery. So many red zone targets, potentially more with the attention paid to CJ in the end zone.

NICE! just out of curiosity how long ago was this, Mitch? one of my best buddies from back in school used to be in a league that was a dynasty format. this thing was like 15 years running and this was back in like 2005. they still used phone in rosters and such from when the league was first formed just for the sheer novelty. believe it or not there was actually a wait list to adopt a franchise in the league too!

I haven't played any format other than PPR in at least the last 5-6 years, probably more, and I play in quite a few leagues. just makes the game play truer with scoring more evenly dispersed imo, but like I said I haven't played a "standard" format since the passing revolution era started so I couldn't really say if that argument really holds any water.

also, how do the majority of you guys score QB TD's. it used to be a lot of the leagues I played were 4pts for passing scores but now that I live away from where I grew up and have had to branch out to new leagues it seems like more and more people score em 6pts. I don't necessarily mind, just wondering.

1989 was when we first started, I played with my best friend - we shared the team. We drafted young guys that would hopefully be studs down the line that no one knew about. I remember drafting Randy Johnson.

Unfortunately, they closed up shop in 1994. So we never really got the good AROD years. But we had fun and had one hell of a team.

Are you high?

Gates (13 Games) 778 yds, 7 tds, 119.8 pts, 9.2 pts/game
V Davis (16 Games) 792 yds, 6 tds, 112.7 pts, 7.0 pts/game
F Davis (12 Games) 796 yds, 3 tds, 95.6 pts, 8.0 pts/game
B Pettigrew (16 Games) 777 yds, 5 tds, 107.7 pts, 6.7 pts/game

The only one close was Vernon Davis, but he still averaged more pts, and his season was considered a disappointment while Pettigrew's was considered great. So Vernon's floor is pretty much Grew's ceiling. No chance in hell I'd take Grew over Gates or Fred Davis.

If its PPR, he's top 5. I'm with you there. Standard? No chance in hell he makes it to top 5.

I play both. Personally, I think half PPR would be the best. I don't like the fact that a 9 yard run by a running back is worth less than a 0 yd catch from a WR. Just my thoughts but idk

All the guys on the list are within 10 pts of each other (basically 1 td), but there is no way Pettigrew could finish in the top 5. Right, got it.

Dude, check out the pts per game. Fred Davis and Gates were far ahead (more than 1 per game). He's topping all these guys + Finley? Sure, he could....if Calvin goes down.

Stafford threw more than any QB in the NFL last year, and Pettigrew STILL COULDN'T TOP THESE GUYS!!!! Why the fuck does anyone on here believe that his stats are going UP!? All they did was add another target.

You come find me when Pettigrew finishes the season top 5 in pts in a standard league. Until then, I'm done with this nonsense.

Whoa, serenity now.

I'm talking PPR. Standard scoring is terrible...

And all Grew needs is a few more TD's and he's top 5 for fun. Easily attainable...

Jeeez

well at least we know it IS possible for calvin..still a shot this year..but might falll just short with the teams left that we have to play..the reason i say it IS possible..is because of the year we are having as a team..stafford is having a down year..combined with calvin being injured earlier in the year with that stinger and having his production drop big time..and every single receiving option died by the last few games..i guess we will see..how far calvin will go.
