Michigan Men's Basketball Recruiting

Sweet!!

Kentucky's Charles Matthews transferring to Michigan

Why didn't you guys say so? This is an awesome pick-up.

I thought it was said that this guy was a 5* recruit, but the sites I looked at have him as a 4 star with all the offers...UK, Kansas, MSU, etc

Excited to see what he can do at Michigan

gobluebigjon's link is about Matthews. You, deathroh, jon, and I are the only ones excited about it so far.

Yeah I saw the link, but I was being sarcastic about the fact that no one mentioned what the link was even about...

anyways, here is another link

I could say nothing about it. It could be a link to a virus...who knows? but i will say that it's a link to the story about 2018 4* recruit Robby Carmody's visit reaction.

"Man! This basketball team is so mediocre. I sure wish they'd change things up. Get some different coaches in here. Recruit a different type of player. You know? Something!!"

Michigan gets 2 new asst. coaches

"Yeah. So what? It's still the same players even though 4 people transferred. They're still going to suck!!"

"They didn't suck. They won some decent games and made the tournament."

"OKay. They didn't suck, but they were mediocre. They need to recruit a different type of player."

Michigan brings in Charles Matthew, a defensive specialist with a questionable shot.

"This guy sucks!! He can't shoot for shit! What the hell?!?!?"

He started off a top 20 five star but fell throughout his senior year. Kind of like GRIII's progression, who has a similar physical makeup, but it sounds like completely opposite styles of play.

Well he can't rebound either. He should have averaged at least five boards in his ten minutes a game

More on Matthews. Sounds even better after reading this article

I'm excited about this kid. Probably won't ever be a lights out shooter, but our staff can improve his shot.

I have never viewed Calipari as a development coach because he's not. I'm not putting much stock into this kid's freshman year at UK. If you aren't ready to go right when you get to UK, Calipari just typically buries you on the depth chart and looks to move on to the next 5-star he can grab in the next recruiting class.

a lot of visits and offers and interest going on out there. Seems like JB and crew have stepped up their game.

2017 forward Isiah Livers just committed to Michigan over Michigan State!

Big news!

With this kid and livers to a degree it seems like Belein is getting back to finding guys on the perimeter of the radar who are possibly under valued, rather than swinging (and missing) at bigger recruits. I know we all wanted to see recruiting blow up after the final four run, but until we get a new regime, hitting early on guys like this is probably what's best.

I just hope he sticks. 2018 is a long way off in the recruiting world.
