Michigan vs Bama Game Thread

1. Michigan has to find qb who can make a difference.

2. Michigan also needs a difference maker at running back. I like Zach and Haskins but if we want to take the next step we need a tad better talent.

3.Michigan has to find a pass rush again, and a better defensive scheme. Just my opinion.
Brown?s defense can out talent teams but good teams score over 30 consistently against his defense.

4. Michigan has to play way better offense inside the 25 or 30. Gattis better get freaking better at his job because he has a terrible feel for the flow of the game in my opinion.
Alabama game is a microcosm of his play calling.

5. Jim has to look in the mirror. What he is doing is just not elite coaching. Just my opinion.
Just not sure what he can do.

They need an elite QB and better athletes on both sides of the ball. I just don't think they have the horses to compete with the best teams.

Fire the HC. Can't win. Either a division, conference, or vs OSU. Nothing.

Shea Patterson continuously fucked this team today. Overthrow after overthrow after overthrow. Not getting rid of the ball, you name it. This game should have went right down to the end and this fuckhead ruined what started out as a good day. The defense gave up some shit but they gave this team every opportunity to stay ahead in the game. I dont know how you show up to play a game like this with your E game, but Patterson did it. Good job buddy!!!!!

There were some play calls that were questionable today, but rewinding some of those plays, there was a block here and there that was missed that could have busted the play wide open. Frustrating to say the least. Offense should of had 40 pts today. The plays were there. Some drops contributed, again, for sure. But overall, Shea fucked this team. One thing to add is that the refs didn't help one bit. Hutchinson got called for a personal foul that clearly wasn't and then you have Alabama guys head hunting and the refs turning a blind eye to 2 guys that should have been thrown out of the game. That was fucking bullshit and it lead to 7 points for Bama. And another thing, our fucking coach needs to get his head out of his fucking ass on the 2 minute drill and preserve time. Dumb fuck!!!!

Rant over!!!

If I'm a UM fan, I'd find the loss today pretty disheartening. Mainly because unlike last year it appeared UM was plenty motivated (and though I wouldn't say Bama looked unmotivated there was less at stake than normal for them). And it didn't look like Michigan couldn't match up. That's happened on occasion when the Big Ten matches up with some of the top SEC (or other southern) teams where you see the athleticism and think "whoa, this is going to be a problem". And that wasn't the case today. But, Bama went in, made their adjustments and then just out-executed UM in the second half. And obviously that's a continuation of a trend with Harbaugh in big games.

Overall though looking at this game and how Minnesota played against Auburn, the Big Ten at least right now seems like they're hanging pretty good athletically now from a lot more places in the conference. That OSU team this year was perhaps the most athletic Big Ten team across the board I've ever seen.

Yep, if Auburn doesn't get that return, it might have been a blow out. They were dominated by Minnesota's defense today. Auburn barely had 200yds total offense. Minnesota had almost 500 yds of offense.

On the flip side, Michigan played the same game Auburn played against Alabama. I thought Michigan did a better job overall. Difference in the games was Nix made no mistakes and Patterson made plenty. He didn't have to be perfect, just efficient, and he couldn't even manage that. Auburn had 2 huge turnovers that won them the game, Michigan had no takeaways and was still in it.

Yeah. Minnesota definitely looked the part out there today. This stuff is cyclical, and everyone is still chasing OSU, but the Big Ten seems pretty good right now, more athletic (might be one reason why MSU is now finding it harder to climb back to the upper echelon). PSU didn't have a stud like Barkley and their QB wasn't a difference-maker like McSorley, but they had more athletes across the board than 2-3 years ago. Wisconsin and Iowa seem less plodding than in the past too. And we'll see if Frost gets Nebraska back on the map. The upside to that of course is if a team can get through the league they have a better chance to compete nationally.

But that's probably also frustrating for UM today. They competed fine at the line of scrimmage and weren't outclassed athletically (except for anyone matching up with Jeudy perhaps), but were undone mostly by the QB not making enough plays.

Brady Hoke = Brian Ellerbe

Jim Harbaugh = Tommy Amaker

Time to find our football Beilein to get this program rolling.

Ok bro

We get it

They aren't canning Harbaugh
They are not. They aren't accomplishing jack either.

It doesn't matter. If we can't make fun of ourselves, we shouldn't make fun of everyone else.

One thing we can do, though............get rid of those dumb fucking all white uniforms. They fucking suck plain and simple. It doesn't even look like Michigan is on the fucking field. They are garbage and need to go. Burn them!!!!

They only wore the all white unis in 74 and 75. People barely grew up with them as they existed for only 2 seasons.

97 road unis should be the deal and get rid of the stupid ass helmet stickers. Stickers are for children.

I grew up with them.

Me, Jim and John.

I don?t care about helmet stickers.

Say, isn?t there supposed to be some outdoor hockey on somewhere today?

You grew up with them for the vast minority of your youth.

They have a pretty dominant unit of receivers but that's about it other than a player here or there. Still I thought they played Alabama as well as any B1G team has during the Saban era - certainly in the 1st half. If Patterson had a better 2nd half it could have been a single digit game. To be fair to Patterson, he made some big mistakes in the 2h but I think Alabama made it tougher on him than they did in the first half.
