Michigan wins!!

2006 game was featured on Inside Michigan Football. I'd take a performance like that. I'd take a 1 pt win.

Michigan hasn't won a big 10 title in 15 years, but why is that brought up as a knock on Harbaugh? Harbaugh hasn't been here for the entire 15 years. It is almost the opposite of a knock. It would be one thing if Michigan were regularly winning big 10 titles and then Harbaugh took over and it stopped, but that isn't how it happened.

Agree, you can't lay all 15 years on Harbaugh. And he has at least made it competitive. Under RR and Hoke (except the year after Tressel stepped down) Michigan had little hope of winning. Or at least I had little if any hope that Michigan would win.

Right.

The way I see it, Lloyd Carr almost always beat Ohio State until Tressel came along, and then he almost never beat Ohio State.

With some disappointments, things were still generally pretty good with Carr except for losing to Ohio State. Michigan still would generally go into The Game with a chance to win or share the B1G title.

And then Lloyd Carr retired or was fired or both or whatever, and everything went to shit.

Forgot about not beating OSU, that first season Michigan could barely beat anybody.

Ultimately Harbaugh comes along and a 10 win season, the next season a close and controversial loss at the shoe and Michigan doesn?t go on to compete for the B1G title and a chance to make the final four, then a fairly disappointing third season and then season four is a repeat of season two, except Michigan gets their asses kicked at the shoe this time.

Disappointments in the ?it don?t matter? bowls after those seasons but having high NFL draft picks bail didn?t help. That shit is a pretty new thing that didn?t used to happen.

Arguably Harbaugh is the best thing to happen to Michigan since 1997 co-national championship, and far and away the best of the successors to Carr.

So all this talk about firing Harbaugh to me seems insane. And replace him with whom? Irregular heartbeat Urban?

Who out there is going to have a better shot at beating Ohio State?

Why would fans want M to risk starting over with DickRod era 2.0 when our team is back to at least knocking on the door?

I say stick with Jim until he figures out how to beat Ohio State, which he inevitably will.

Remember, Jim Harbaugh was a student athlete at Michigan. He played QB at Michigan. He beat Ohio State and won the big 10 championship. As far as I know, he graduated from Michigan. He was a first round draft pick. No matter how he does as head coach, he'll always get my respect.

Players from the program are going to the NFL and doing well.

Agree that firing Harbaugh makes no sense. But if he were to leave for one reason or another, it won't be Urban coming in to save the day. He quashed that line of thought.

I would personally be aok if Urban were to return to the sideline. In that event, my sideline of choice would be Notre Dame's. Watching him enhance his record against TTUN would be a thrill.

It's a legit concern. His reputation was that of a QB whisperer, no? Guess Andrew Luck had a lot to do with that.

Gannon and Kaepernick might credit JH for their limited success. And Jake Rudock, can't deny that JH was influential in his development. Deny that and yer delusional.

Ok. But to be clear, I was agreeing with you.
