Miguel Cabrera all time great career HOF numbers tracker

Miguel Cabrera now has 80 career games with 3+ hits and 3+ RBI. Since RBI became an official stat in 1920, only four players have more such games:
1. Lou Gehrig - 97
2. Al Simmons - 92
3. Babe Ruth - 87
4. Hank Aaron - 81
5. Miguel Cabrera - 80

Miguel Cabrera is the first player age 38+ to have hits in at least nine straight AB since Ty Cobb for the Tigers, 9 straight from May 4-6, 1925

That's the last 38+ year old for ANY team, and of course it's another Tigers player!

After this afternoon's 8 - 7 Tigers Win over the rays,

Miguel Cabrera, who last month hit his 500th career home run, is approaching several other milestones:
The Detroit Tigers first baseman needs 25 Hits to reach 3,000, Six Doubles to reach 600, Two RBIs to reach 1,800, and two walks to reach 1,200.

Miguel Cabrera's RBI in the 3rd inning is the 1,800th of his career, becoming the 20th player since 1920 (when RBI became an official stat) to reach that milestone.

Batting average may have rightfully lost its sex appeal in player evaluation, but not everything that?s fun needs to be a measure of a player?s overall value. We?ve been treated to eight new members of the 3,000 hit club over the last
20 years; that?s a quarter of the 3,000-hitsmen in baseball history, with a few more just outside that arbitrary endpoint.

Miguel Cabrera almost certainly won?t get the 21 hits he needs to reach the milestone over Detroit?s nine remaining games this season, but he should get there sometime in early 2022. After he does, however, baseball won?t have to print any more membership cards for a while.

By definition, players who end up with 3,000 career hits necessarily must have had 2,000 hits at some point. In 2021, we have fewer active 2,000-hit hitters than at any other ?normal? time in baseball history:

September 25, 2021: With his three hits, Cabrera stands 17 shy of 3,000 and he's just four doubles from 600. He would become only the third player ever to achieve 500 homers, 3,000 hits and 600 doubles, joining Hank Aaron and Albert Pujols in that exclusive club.
It was Cabrera?s 596th double, tying Luis Gonzalez for 18th-most in MLB history.

Those are going to be great numbers. I hope he gets 3000 hits and 600 doubles on the same at bat.

With 7 games to go for the 2021 season, Miguel Cabrera needs 16 hits to reach 3,000 for his career. He needs four doubles to reach 600, and one walk to reach 1,200.
