According to Fangraphs, there have been 9,377 pitchers in MLB history since 1901 (121 seasons). Miguel Cabrera has faced roughly 1 out of every 6 of them (15.9%).

Here's Miggy on Aug. 17, 2013 Downwards arrow torching Aaron Crow of the
Royals for a Tigers walk-off winner. #DetroitRoots

TIGERS ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN.
Totally Tigers

On Friday, I asked Tiger fans to come up with their list of the Tiger players who should be the ?Mt. Rushmore? of the organization. Instead of the 4 faces, we ran with 5.

Thank you to everyone who contributed.

But before I reveal the answers, some relevant details.

There were a total of 18 players nominated. Most of them from decades ago. Only 2 from the modern era. Positional players (12) outnumbered the 6 pitchers nominated.

Now, as promised, here are my 5 nominees:

A year ago, Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera publicly lobbied to play more at first base.New manager A.J. Hinch granted his wish.

This year the soon-to-be-39-year-old future Hall-of-Famer is singing a different tune. Asked how much first base he would play in 2022, Cabrera responded with a smile, ?I don?t know, because we want Torkelson in the lineup. I?ll take DH.?

28 players in MLB history have 500 HR
17 players have 600 doubles
32 players have 3,000 hits

Only 2 players have reached all 3 milestones. When Miguel Cabrera gets 13 more hits & 3 more doubles, he'll join the club along with Hank Aaron and Albert Pujols. #Legend #DetroitRoots
